Hot Wheels Let’s Race – Season 1 Episode 3 Recap & Review

Keeping the Pace

Hot Wheels Let’s Race Episode 3 begins with Spark telling Coop about her car lift cum Slushie machine. He agrees to help her as she has to build it soon as Dash expects it the same night. Following that, Mac tells him about the stunt jump he is making the same night and asks for Coop’s help. Coop agrees to help him and finds himself making a promise to two people at the same time.

He decides to use the RocketFire car to shuttle between both destinations and help them. This takes a toll on his health, and he is not able to help both of them adequately. He watches them both making progress while helping them.

Coop eventually gets tired of shuttling and even falls asleep. He comes up with the idea to design a faster track to the stunt park so he can travel faster. He gets a call from Mac calling him to check out his progress, and Coop leaves, leaving the track incomplete. Driving on the track, he flies off the incomplete track and lands straight into a giant pizza.

He is unable to remove his car from the sticky pizza cheese, but Spark and Mac drive by and spot him. Spark uses her new invention to help Coop out. Coop offers to use his car’s rocket boosters to push them to their destination quickly. Mac uses the speed to do his 6 flips. Spark reaches Dash and shows her the invention. Noticing Coop’s work, she gives Coop an extra flame badge.

The scene changes to a giant octopus rampaging the city. While the kids are working, Squeakers informs them about the giant octopus. The kids select their cars and leave. Reaching the octopus, they charge head-on, but the octopus uses its tentacles to blow away the cars. The kids then attack from different directions.

The octopus catches all the racers one by one. The octopus eats Axel’s car and chokes on it, setting everyone free. They take their cars in for a carwash, making their vehicles slippery. The octopus is unable to catch them. They spin around the octopus entangling its tentacles. Shark Bite chomps down on a metal pipe, causing the octopus to be shot away with a jet of water.

Dash congratulates the kids, and Spark gets a Flame Badge.

The Episode Review

This episode brings two Hot Wheels cars to the limelight. In the first segment of the episode, Coop gets caught up with two promises he made. It teaches being a good friend and also keeping promises. However, attending to both of them takes a toll on him, and he isn’t able to help Mac and Spark adequately. Hence, the episode teaches the importance of being honest and straightforward.

In the second segment, we get to see some fast-paced action with Coop and his friends taking down the giant octopus. The team uses coordination and innovative thinking to take down the beast, which makes it good inspiration for kids.
