Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! – Episode 3 Recap & Review

Akino-san Is Super Unfriendly

At the beginning of Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! Episode 3, Tsubasa and his classmates go on a ski trip. Minami, his new friend, also comes along. Along the way, she mentions that she wants to befriend Akina Sayuri, a new student at the school. Additionally, she tells him that Sayuri comes across as rather icy whenever she tries to strike up a conversation with her.

Since they are both inexperienced skiers, Tsubasa and Sayuri are training side by side on the ski vacation. Meanwhile, Minami is in class A since she is practically the finest skier. Tsubasa attempts to strike up a discussion with Sayuri, but she initially dismisses him. After some practice, their trainer gives them a lunch break.

Sayuri is found naked and sweating profusely as Tsubasa goes on the school bus to retrieve his chopsticks, which he had forgotten to take along. Following that, she confides in him about her reserved nature and her tendency to get anxious when participating in outdoor sports.

Sayuri is unsure about how to break as she and Tsubasa continue skating together following their lunch break. Minami, though, saves the day. Sayuri then goes on to apologise for being distant, and they immediately become friends.

Minami is subtly frustrated in the final moments of the episode because she doesn’t want to feel left out now that Sayuri and Tsubasa are getting cosy.

The Episode Review

During a field trip to the ski resort in episode 3, Tsubasa begins his ski lessons. Minami finds the solitary Akino Sayuri fascinating, so she suggests he team up with her. Akino is half-naked and drenched in perspiration when he dashes to the bus to retrieve his chopsticks for lunch.

This episode, like the ones before it, doesn’t put much emphasis on the plot or the character arcs. Because they aren’t developed enough, the characters aren’t easy to care about or support. We are instead mere spectators as the humorous stories are thrust upon us. Having said that, it is, to a certain degree, pleasant and fun to watch.
