Apple TV+ has been surprising everyone with the quality of its content. In 2023, the platform had a breakthrough year, giving us one hit after the other. Hijack may follow suit. Its interesting premise is inherently likeable and viewers will definitely be looking forward to this one. Idris Elba stars as the central character but details about his role are not clear at this point. The show will be mostly set on a hijacked aeroplane.

Hijack will be available to stream globally on Apple’s streaming platform. Apple TV+ is available to watch in all the major geographies, including the US, UK, and the Asian continent. We are not currently aware of any other platforms that will be airing Hijack.
Hijack Season 1 Episode 3 Release Date
Hijack Season 1 Episode 3 will be released on Wednesday 5th July at 12 am (PT)/3 am (ET). The new episode is titled “Draw a Blank.” Since the entire series is told in real-time, expect this episode to pick up right in the aftermath of the first two episodes and continue Sam’s efforts to de-escalate the situation in the hijacked Flight 29.

Hijack’s season 1 has been commissioned for a total of 7 episodes, So after the third episode, we will have another 4 episodes to go.
What happened in Episodes 1 & 2?
Flight 29 going from Dubai to London is hijacked in mid-air. Sam Nelson (Elba) is amongst the 200 passengers. He is a cutthroat, expert negotiator who is built for such situations. But the hijackers don’t know that. He tries to manipulate their leader, Stuart, by making him trust Sam. Captain Robin Allen and his First Officer Anna Kovacs cede control of the plane. A Dubai air traffic controller senses something is wrong and tries to start an investigation from his end at the airport.
In London, we meet Sam’s family, ex-wife Marsha and their son Kai. Marsha is presently dating Detective Inspector Daniel O’Keefe, whose ex-girlfriend, Zahra, is with the British counter-terrorism unit. Sam manages to get a message across to Marsha before he hands over his phone to the hijackers. But his efforts are stunted as Daniel and Marsha drop the issue after Zahra doesn’t find anything. Alice, a controller at London ATC, digs deeper into the incident and figures out with her colleagues that Flight 29 has indeed been hijacked.
