​​DIRECTOR – Lee Seong Taek

Little is known about Director Seong-taek. He has worked as a visual effects specialist in popular films such as  Train to Busan. Your Name is Rose, Peninsula, and the list goes on. High School Return of a Gangster will be his debut as a director.

WRITER – Jung Da-Hee

This series is based on the web novel “I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler”. Originally, the book is a student manhwa, but the show removed all the BL aspects of the storyline, disappointing many BL fans. 


Yoon Chan Young as Song Yi Heon | Kim Deuk Pal

Chan-Young is a South Korean child actor who made his debut in 2013. He has since risen to become one of the best young actors in the country. His appearance in the 2014 drama “Mama” as Han Geu Roo, earned him two awards for the best young actor at the 3rd APAN Star Awards. His most notable role is on the Netflix original series All of Us Are Dead, which was released in 2022.  

Bong JaeHyun as Choi Se-kyung

Apart from acting, Jae-hyun is the vocalist of the South Korean idol group  Golden Child, which debuted in 2017. He has been on a few shows, but his big break came from Twinkling Watermelon, where he played the role of Ha Eun Ho (Eun Gyeol’s brother). A fun fact about him is that he is fluent in English. 

Lee Seo Jin as Deuk-pal

Seo-jin is a well-known versatile actor who debuted in 1999. It’s safe to say that he has appeared in many shows since then. You might recognise him from shows like Marriage Contract (2016), Yi-san, and many more. When he is not winning our hearts on the screen, he volunteers for many philanthropic projects. He was the Goodwill Ambassador for Korea in 2008, and he continues to speak up for human rights.


Hwang Bo-Ra as Mi-kyung

Bo-ra is a South Korean actress who debuted in 2003. Her role in the 2027 Dark comedy film Skeletons in the Closet earned her the Best New Actress at the Busan Film Critics Awards and Director’s Cut Awards. She has since appeared in many films and series. You might recognise her in Dali and The Cocky Prince, Business Proposal and Crash Course Romance.
