Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
You might want to have your handkerchief’s at the ready because Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 may be the last time we see our band of space heroes together.
Not only that but according to rumours online, at least one Guardian will meet their demise before the closing credits start to roll! Which hero will it be? We have no idea but as we know Dave Bautista will be exiting the role of Drax, there is a chance that our favourite ‘destroyer’ will be meeting his maker at some point in the movie.
This is just speculation but for more concrete details about Guardians 3, check out the information below.
What will happen in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3?
The official plot synopsis reads:
“In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Admittedly, the synopsis doesn’t give much of the plot away. But as the cast and director have suggested the movie will be more emotional than the others in the franchise (perhaps because one of our heroes does get ‘offed’ before the end), this might not be as funny in tone as its predecessors.
While plot details have been kept under wraps, we do know that Adam Warlock will be making his MCU debut in the movie. In the comic books, Warlock was a perfect Sovereign created by the Golden High Priestess Ayesha to destroy the Guardians. We suspect part of his comic book history will be retold in the upcoming movie but whether or not it’s entirely faithful to the comics remains to be seen.
Judging by the trailer (see below), Rocket’s backstory will feature prominently. His character arc is (apparently) the reason why director James Gunn returned to the franchise so we can assume there will be a definitive end to Rocket’s story. He might even be the one to die!
When will Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 be released?
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will debut in the UK on May 3rd before releasing worldwide on May 5th.
Who stars in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3?
The main cast of the previous Guardians movies returns in the third instalment. Joining them are Maria Baklova as Cosmo the Spacedog (previously seen in the Holiday special), Will Poulter as antihero Adam Warlock, and Chuwudi Iwuji as the movie’s protagonist, the High Evolutionary.

Is this the end of the Guardians Of The Galaxy?
We expect the Guardians will make their return to the MCU at some point but this latest movie might be the last one that they headline. If they do return for their own movie, it won’t be with director James Gunn and there is a chance that not all of the characters we have become familiar with will return as part of the crew.
