Christmas Party
Our ‘From Me to You: Kimi Ni Todoke’ season 3 episode 4 recap and review follows Sawako being happy about being able to go to the party. Meanwhile, Yano finds herself swayed by Kento’s kind gestures, especially when he asks her to spend Christmas together. Thanks to the comic timing of the “Kento Girls,” she turns him down, but Kento decides to go to the class party instead.
The next day, Sawako decides to confront Shota about whether something is bothering him because he’s been detached lately. Shota doesn’t respond appropriately, making her even more worried about their relationship. Later, Shota and Kento accidentally meet, and Kento reveals that he likes Yano.
On the day of the party, while talking to Yano, Sawako ends up crying, thinking that her relationship with Shota might end. Yano reveals that although she’s interested in Kento, she’s conflicted about her own emotions and unable to reach a decision.
The friends all arrive dolled up for the Christmas party later that night. After a while of merrymaking, it is time for passing their presents. However, Chizu’s present, which she had bought for Ryu, almost reaches him before Joe ends up taking it. So, Chizu steals it and leaves the room with Ryu behind her. She then gives Ryu the present, while Ryu gives her a preserved pink rose as a present, adding that it reminds him of her.
While the class is still partying, Pin, whose plans for the day had taken a back turn, arrives at the class’ karaoke party and meets Sawako outside. He talks to Sawako about her concerns and gives her good advice, encouraging her not to bottle up things she wants to say. Simultaneously, Kento meets Mogi and ends up punching him for treating Yano poorly during the trip.
Later, Mogi apologizes to Yano while Pin enjoys asking the students to go back home. Later, Kento expresses his love for Yano with a huge bouquet of red roses, and she accepts.
The Episode Review
Sawako finally gets to spend Christmas with her friends, but it’s not without its challenges. She repeatedly feels selfish for worrying about her relationship with Shota. Pin, acting as a rare supportive teacher figure, advises her to sort out her issues to help those she loves.
Meanwhile, Yano and Chizu seem to be progressing with their own personal challenges. Yano, especially, who had locked herself in a self-destructive identity prison, starts to believe she can receive and experience love.
