From Me to You: Kimi Ni Todoke – Season 3 Episode 2 Recap & Review

School Trip

Our ‘From Me to You: Kimi Ni Todoke’ season 3 episode 2 recap and review follows Sawako and friends on a school trip to Okinawa! As the class prepares for the trip, the trio notices couples sprouting up throughout the school. This has Yano especially worried since she feels left out, labeling herself as different since she hasn’t ever experienced love despite being in multiple relationships. When a classmate asks her out ahead of the trip, she instantly agrees.

Sawako and friends make their way to Okinawa with their classmates to great uproar and enthusiasm. All three friends, however, find themselves facing some challenges. While Sawako and Shota struggle with their embarrassment at the prospect of kissing, Yano feels cornered and isolated since she doesn’t really like Mogi.

Chizu is upset that Ryu, her childhood friend, hasn’t told her about a girl who confessed to him. Nevertheless, they enjoy their trip, traveling to the beach, visiting the aquarium, and trying new activities together. Sawako and Shota spend considerable time together, participating in a ceramics activity and gifting their masterpieces to each other. They also get their fortunes read, which advise them to invest in their love.

However, challenges in their personal lives begin cropping up. Chizu is angry at Ryu for not confiding in her about the girl’s confession, even though he had already rejected her. Yano starts feeling something is wrong when she recalls how Sawako had asked her whether she likes Mogi. As for our shy couple, they are caught in the act of almost sharing a kiss by Yano, leading the two to disperse like headless chickens. When Sawako and Yano enter their room, they find Chizu unusually quiet, and Sawako feels guilty about only thinking of herself.

The next day, the students get some free time, and all three friends disperse with their partners or prospective partners, with the shy couple being the most awkward of them all. Chizu hangs out with Ryu and Joe to give Sawako and Yano space, while Yano leaves Mogi to talk to his friends. When she returns, she overhears Mogi talking about how disappointed he was about dating Yano. “I guess I just set my expectations too high,” he tells his friends. Although it hurts Yano’s feelings, she presents a tough face, and they mutually agree to break up.

Kento finds her sitting alone, and Yano eventually ends up telling him about how nobody really loves her and that she has trouble liking others. She’s so overwhelmed that she ends up crying, with Kento comforting her in an embrace. Elsewhere, while having ice cream together, Ryu finally confesses to Chizu.
