When We Go
Season 3, Episode 2 of From begins with the aftermath of the deadly trap set by the creatures for the townsfolk. Jade finally makes his way to the shed and discovers Boyd alive with the corpse of Kenny’s mother, Tian-Chen. The two men bring her body to the church, where the entire town is struck by grief over her death. Meanwhile, Kenny and Jim stumble upon vegetable patches mysteriously growing all around the stream.
Tabitha, on the other hand, wakes up in Victor’s childhood house. She tries to convince Victor’s father that she is not lying about where she came from, but he remains skeptical.
As the police prepare to arrive, Tabitha makes one last effort to persuade him by showing him news articles about her family’s disappearance. Still unconvinced, the man finally takes her seriously when she mentions the tower and the children she encountered. He then reveals that his wife had visions of the place, seeing the same tower and children before his family vanished.
He takes Tabitha to the basement to show her the paintings his wife made of these visions—paintings identical to the ones Tabitha had been seeing. It becomes clear that many others had been chosen by the children before her, but none had ever succeeded in leaving, except for Tabitha.
Back in town, Fatima’s health starts to decline, and when one of her teeth falls out, Ellis takes her to the clinic. Kristi is overwhelmed, dealing with Tian-Chen’s death, so Mari—who is revealed to be a pediatric nurse—examines Fatima and tells them she is fine, aside from severe malnutrition.
Afterward, Ellis leaves to check on his father, and while he’s gone, Fatima, despite her condition, stumbles upon rotten vegetables meant for compost and devours them out of desperation.
Kenny and Jim return to town and learn of Tian-Chen’s death. Heartbroken, Kenny asks Kristi to dress her body so he can remember her as she was.
Meanwhile, Jade and Kristi prepare Tian-Chen for her funeral. Kenny, fueled by grief, plans to blow up the cave where the creatures rest, and Boyd joins him. However, remembering his mother’s dying words in Cantonese, which meant “take care of Kenny,” Boyd honors her wishes and decides against the explosion. The two return to town safely.
After the funeral, Boyd shares his plan with Ellis: he intends to capture one of the creatures alive.
Meanwhile, Jim returns home from the church, where the family has come to terms with the possibility of Tabitha’s death. Julie sternly reminds her father to step up and be a parent to them, especially after the tragedy of Thomas’ death. However, upon entering the house, the phone rings. Jim answers it, only to hear a child’s voice introduce himself as Thomas.
The Episode Review
This episode of From picks up the tension after the shocking events of Episode 1. The discovery of the vegetable patches by Jim and Kenny adds a new layer of suspicion, as it feels like another trap set by the malevolent forces keeping the townsfolk in this mysterious place. The town seems to be teetering on the edge of survival, as the unknown entity taunts and toys with them, ensuring they suffer but stay alive just enough to be played with.
A new mystery surfaces with the eerie phone call. While it’s unlikely that the voice on the phone is truly Thomas, given his age when he died, this seems to be a cruel manipulation to lead Jim astray, much like his earlier obsession with the radio signal that promised a way home.
Tabitha’s revelations at Victor’s house add more complexity to the puzzle. With her likely back in the real world, the big question is how—or if—she can help the others. What is this place that has trapped them?
