The Return of the King (of Queens)
In Episode 9 of Family Guy Season 22, Lois has to sell off the TV to buy Christmas gifts. Peter is mad about it. Everybody tries to convince Peter that streaming is better than network television, but Peter sets out to prove otherwise.
Peter sells the refrigerator to annoy Lois. Since Peter is his last viewer, Kevin James shows up to bunk with Peter. Lois wants him to go, but Peter tells her that Kevin will be sent away after he trains him to be the ‘real guy’.
Kevin gets his first job at the UPS. But he gradually starts disappearing. Doctor Sheppard suggests he needs the laughter of the studio audience to get back to normal. At a live show, Peter manages to make viewers understand that network television is more fun than streaming. When people laugh, Kevin’s body parts reappear, and he eventually goes up in the sky.
The Episode Review
The latest episode is an attempt to throw light on the unattended subject of network television’s sinking dominance. It starts well but goes nowhere and ultimately becomes a pointless celebrity episode. Even so, Peter is delightful to watch and the cutaways are funny. But we can only recommend it only if you don’t have anything better to watch.
