Family Guy Season 22 Episode 13 ‘Lifeguard Meg’ Recap & Review

Lifeguard Meg

As episode 13 of Family Guy season 22 starts, the Griffin family is seen at the water park. Stewie falls into the water while trying to get peed on by dolphins. Meg comes to rescue as she quickly jumps into the water and saves her little brother. Impressed by her swimming skills, the water park offers her a job as a lifeguard. Meg happily accepts the offer.

Elsewhere, a coffee shop owner is forced to abandon his coffee shop due to some ‘not-so-negative’ posts he sent on social media. Who wins the shop? Stewie and Brian!

The duo start a new cafe called Oh Joe You D’int, but they don’t have any coffee. They try to stall the customers, but they soon begin to get angry. Brian saves the day by trying to sell Folgers from the bodega next door. But Stewie is afraid people will find out they are selling Folgers.

Eventually, Principal Sheppard shows up at the coffee shop and he immediately figures out Brian and Stewie are selling Folgers. Stewie apologizes to his customers for selling instant coffee. The customers forgive the shop owners but they force the duo out of the shop over their social media activity. The shop immediately changes hands to Principal Sheppard.

At the water park, Meg is enjoying her job. However, her happiness is short-lived as Peter and the gang show up and begin creating a ruckus. Peter has an accident in the pool, and he stops breathing. Meg, true to her duty, gives him mouth-to-mouth CPR.

Peter is safe, but the awkward moment is seen by everyone at the pool. Peter and Meg decide they won’t talk about it. However, when they reach home, the pool news is being shown on television. Lois is upset over what happened.

After another accident at the staircase, Peter realizes he was at fault and comes to Meg to apologise for being at the pool. Meg forgives him. In the end, Peter is shown appreciating his daughter’s new job which she has recently quit.

The Episode Review

The latest Family Guy episode might not be a great one, but it does entertain. The storyline is a bit repetitive as we’ve frequently seen Brian and Stewie trying out new ventures and failing at them. But that doesn’t mean the duo trying their luck in business has ceased to be funny. That being said, viewers deserve some freshness in the script.

With regards to the Meg part of the story, it’s funny but lacks strength and creativity. All in all, this episode is an above-average effort that is best watched when you don’t need to do so attentively.
