The Bottle Episode
The latest episode of Family Guy starts with Lois sharing the news that she has booked the Airbnb for July 4th, even though it’s a different month. The Griffin family leaves for the trip that only Lois is enthusiastic about. Brian and Stewie try free samples of salt water taffy, and the delicious taffy gives birth to a business idea that Brian and Stewie feel can make them rich: Bring boatloads of taffy to Quahog and sell.
Back home, Lois discovers she is banned from Airbnb because the owner gave her zero stars for stealing items. Later, Lois figures that it might be because she stole a bottle of shampoo. Lois tells her family about the shampoo situation, and they predictably lay into her for stealing the bottle.
Brian and Stewie are practicing how to deal with customers in a room full of taffy cartons. Clad up in some fancy clothes and hat, hop door to door trying to sell taffy after their practice session. However, nothing seems to work.
After a difficult conversation with Bonnie, Lois decides to take the shampoo back to the hotel. She meets with the owner and encourages them to remove the bad review from the website. When the owner turns down her request, Lois decides to go to extremes to win back her respect. She gets a job as a DoorDash driver in order to exact vengeance.
Brian and Stewie decide to repivot their business idea as they haven’t been able to make sales. The two give their taffy the MAGA touch and rebrand it as Chewy-non, and eventually, the venture takes off.
Lois pulls off an incredible tit-for-tat as she threatens to write a bad DoorDash review about the Airbnb owner. As a peace deal, Lois forces the Airbnb owner to remove the bad review about her, and having been successful, she leaves with an evil look on her face.
The Episode Review
First thing first, the latest episode of Family Guy lacks substance. So much so, the base seems hollow. However, the execution is rather entertaining to watch. The Brewie chemistry fails to impress this time though, with nothing solid in action.
However, Lois’s anxious, crazily frustrated side, that many of us like to watch, has once again been put on display nicely. All in all, this is a pretty weak plot nicely executed.
