Face Me – K-drama Episode 6 Recap & Review

Episode 6

Episode 6 of Face Me begins with Jeong-woo breaking into the apartment just as Min-hyung stops Min-jae from stabbing her with the knife. We learn that she had been recording their conversation, with her junior officer listening in on the other end of a phone call. Min-jae escapes as the police arrive but is later arrested in the street.

Soo-kyung finally confesses the truth: she had gaslighted Min-jae, leading to an argument in which he got hurt. It’s also revealed that she was the one who pressed the mirror shard into Min-jae’s chin. Further investigation uncovers that Min-jae had been physically and emotionally dependent on Soo-kyung.

Later, Min-hyung tries to apologize to the delivery guy, but he walks away, reiterating how biased the police are against those with a criminal record, making it nearly impossible for them to start afresh. Min-hyung then visits her mother, who still believes her son was innocent.

Min-hyung continues investigating her brother’s case and stops by Nam Gi-taek’s house. Gi-taek was the man who allegedly committed suicide, but Min-hyung suspects foul play. Gi-taek’s daughter mentions seeing Jin-seok on the day of her father’s death. Min-hyung also learns that Jin-seok and Nam Gi-taek were in the same prison and comes across a hospital volunteer group during her investigation.

As Min-hyung visits her brother, Jeong-woo also arrives after obtaining his address through a lawyer friend. However, he leaves when his friend and fellow doctor, Han Woo-jin, calls him over. Woo-jin takes Jeong-woo to his mother’s birthday dinner, revealing a tense relationship between Jeong-woo and his mother. This tension eventually leads Jeong-woo to leave. Meanwhile, Min-hyung tracks down Jeong-woo’s mother, Yoon Seo-hee, who was part of the volunteer group along with Han Woo-jin. Min-hyung tries to obtain a list of inmates but is unsuccessful.

Later, Min-hyung speaks to a witness who claims to have seen the culprit lurking near Nam Gi-taek’s house when he was murdered. That night, Gi-taek’s daughter, Nam Hyo-ju, stays over at the witness’s house, who is also her neighbor. The neighbor admits she feels unsafe living there as a witness and plans to move out. That same night, she hears someone opening the main gate of her house while Hyo-ju is asleep. Recognizing the killer, the woman hides in the bathroom and alerts Min-hyung.

At that moment, Min-hyung is at her brother’s house with Jeong-woo, who has just discovered her connection to the man who killed his fiancé. Jeong-woo follows Min-hyung’s car to Hyo-ju’s house, where the killer attacks Hyo-ju as she struggles to survive. The episode ends with Jeong-woo and Min-hyung racing to save her.

The Episode Review

This episode ramps up the action as the unknown masked killer becomes aware of a potential witness who can identify him. Throughout the episode, he is seen lurking outside the neighbor’s apartment, adding a layer of suspense.

To be frank, Woo-jin feels quite suspicious. First, Lee Yi-kyung, a main actor in the show, has only been portrayed as a supporting character so far. Second, Woo-jin’s character keeps dropping subtle hints related to the case—he was also part of the volunteer group. Being Jeong-woo’s friend, he might even have a motive connected to Jeong-woo or his late fiancé.

While much of this remains conjecture, the show has dropped several hints suggesting that Min-hyung’s brother may not be the killer after all. This ties into the broader theme of institutional bias against individuals with a criminal record, who often become the default suspects in every case. This theme is emphasized in both the delivery man’s storyline and Min-hyung’s brother’s case, as he continues to deny having killed the woman.
