Eternal Strands Guide: How to Harvest the Brennig Glasstail

Across Eternal Strands, you’ll come across various giant bosses, coming in the form of Arkons or Great Beasts. Brennig Glasstail is a monstrous creature that hits quite hard and does big frost damage. It’s also one of the more puzzling boss fights because it’s not initially clear exactly how to Harvest this guy. Thankfully, we have everything you need here successfully do so and reap the rewards!

Brennig doesn’t fly but it does have a lot of evasive manoeuvres. It tends to hit with a mix of physical and frost attacks. It will headbutt you if you’re standing in front of it, and it can also whip its tail around as a weapon too. Furthermore, it has a nasty bite that will stun you if caught, and it can hit with frost attacks too.

These frost attacks come from an ice breath move which hits in one direction, and a splash attack, which sees its body burst out a jet of frost that freezes the immediate area around Brennig. This can damage over time unless you have Frost Resistant Armour equipped so do bear that in mind.

Brennig Glasstail’s Weak Spots

Brennig Glasstail has a very specific way of Harvesting its Strand which requires you to destroy a lot of parts for this boss to go down. First, there are crystals located all over Brennig Glasstail’s body that need to be destroyed. These are as follows: 1x each of the four legs, 1x End of the tail, 2x Back plates, 1x Forehead and 1x Under the Chin.

Once you’ve destroyed all of those crystallized areas and broken off the chunks, you may be wondering why the weak spot isn’t showing up. Well, here’s the final caveat – we also need to burn the mane of fur around its neck. For this reason, its advisable not to deplete too much HP off Glasstail, as the aiming can be a bit tricky to get right here. Furthermore, attacking during Drought can make this fight more troublesome, because fire will ignite quickly in these conditions.

First up, you want to attach to Brennig Glasstail’s back, and then hit with Drake’s Breath or Fire Bows on the base of the neck to ignite a fire. It may take a bit of doing, but eventually the fur will disappear and allow you to Harvest.

Harvesting Brennig Glasstail

The Locus Point will show on the back of Brennig Glasstail’s head once you’ve completed all these objectives. At this point, all you need to do is climb up and hold triangle to Harvest on its head. Now, sometimes it doesn’t always show up so if that is the case, climb back down and goad Brennig Glasstail into headbutting the ground in front of it.

Doing so, especially with the horns removed, will cause the creature to become dizzy and stunned. This is the perfect opportunity to then climb back up and harvest the strand.

Once that’s done, return the Strand to Dahm to upgrade your Ice Wall attack.
