Camp
When you arrive in the Graveyard of Melodies, you’ll find a bunch of different tents. Some of these actually include some crucial clues so do be sure to check them all.
Inside the Operations Tent, check the desk for a bunch of documents that hold important information. The post-it notes will confirm that the Maze operates through very specific Senses to navigate through to the other side, along with a key document that has a couple of diagrams. The first, which is the route to the Mausoleum, can only be accessed by following music.
Inside Lethicia’s tent, which is located just right of the bridge) you’ll find a map of the entire Graveyard of Melodies. This will confirm that the area (and the different sections reached via the map) are broken down into the Mausoleum, a Hill and the Garden.
Finally, inside Rossi and Fernanda’s Tent you’ll find a radio, which you can use to contact Samuel and Agatha if you need any hints.
Outside, if you switch to Lupi, you’ll be able to talk to an apparition just right of the tent. This gives further clues that you need to follow music to get to the Mausoleum.
Head due south from here and you’ll notice a purple lamppost. Just to the bottom of this, you’ll find a fence that can be destroyed. There are apparitions inside the other sections of the Graveyard that mention how the fence is weak and can be destroyed with a hit or two, so to prevent any backtracking, lets go ahead and do that now.
On the other side, head all the way south east, avoiding the ghost, and destroying the glowing tombstone. These are basically what summon the ghosts, and you’ll find them inside the maze too. Eliminating these with a quick crowbar hit stops the ghosts from following.
Inside Theo’s tent to the right, check the note on the table for a crucial clue:
This unlocks a padlock (and an achievement) in the Garden section of the Graveyard, which we’ll get to later on. I will warn though that it’s the fiddliest puzzle in the entire game and pretty tough to do with a controller so I’d recommend switching to your mouse for this one. Anyway, lets crack on.
Leave the tent and head all the way left. Just under the path back to camp, you’ll find a Cursed Item: 8 Ball. Interact with it and then back to the main path.
Follow the path north and to the right, into the doorway leading to the maze.
Maze To Mausoleum
In the next section, you’ll be greeted with a number of doorways which need to be navigated through in order to get to the Mausoleum. Given the clues we had earlier on, we need to follow the music coming from each of the doorways in turn.
For this, I’d recommend going into your audio settings and turning off music completely. Then, simply walk up to the different doorways, wait for the audio to pick up, and walk through.
Once you’ve done this a total of 3-4 times, you’ll find yourself at the Mausoleum. At this point, be sure to go back into your Audio settings and turn the Music back up if you haven’t already!
The Mausoleum
Follow the path all the way past several Zombies, down some steps and all the way to the right until you find an outdoor tent and a radio set up. Be sure to interact with this to serve as your new Checkpoint Respawn point.
After grabbing the gear here, head north west. Go into Amy and Rossi’s Tent and check all the notes on the board.
The most important note here is a post-it that reads “Path to Garden”. This confirms that you need to use your UV light and follow the doorways through to the next section.
Furthermore, another post-it mentions “counting the cats” which, as you may have guessed, leads to another area, which we’ll uncover later!
For now, leave the tent and go up the stairs to the right. Make note of two areas here. First, the Mausoleum itself and secondly, the skeletal remains just to the right of this.
First, head to the right and check out the skeletal remains. There’s a lockbox just in front which holds a three-symbol code which we’ll find inside the Mausoleum. There’s also a vault leading back to the Underground base. With all this in mind, go inside the Mausoleum.
Mausoleum Puzzle
The room in here is full of statues, along with several documents that will help solve this puzzle. They’re highlighted below:
The note in the far corner will show what we need to do in order to solve the puzzle. I’d actually recommend taking a picture of this on your phone so you can reference it while you check the statues.
Finally, the document on the table to the north will show all the statues and their significant parts circled.
The clues are riddles and point to which symbols are most relevant. When you’ve solved it, return to the lockbox and enter the symbols. If you need a quick solution though, here’s a picture of the final combination:
Inside the lockbox, you’ll find the Deja Vu Radio (and Achievement: Déja Vu), which is essential to completing an objective in the Crystal Cave. For now, return to the Maze and turn on your UV lights.
Maze to The Garden
Just like before, you want to follow the various doorways through to the Garden. In doing so, turn on your UV flashlight and check the flowerbeds in front of each Doorway.
When you shine your flashlight on the flowers, they should turn bright pink. If they don’t, head for another doorway. After moving through 3-4 doorways, you’ll eventually make it to the Garden.
The Garden
Inside the Garden, you’ll find several Echoes of Ghosts, and also Beto’s Tent just south of the stone stairwell. Inside, you’ll find some details about the Deja Vu Radio, along with another hint on how to get to The Hill. Apparently you need to keep an eye on the trees.
Head back up the stairs and up the next stairwell to the right. Here, you’ll find a padlock on the fence.
This links back to the schematics we found in Theo’s tent. When you interact with it, a giant padlock will show up on screen. You now need to rotate the padlock around in the right way, indicated on the schematic, in order to move the ball bearing inside so it lights up all four markers on the front. When you hear a click, check the front of the padlock to see the lights that have turned on for each completed part. There are four in total, and you need to focus on the front, side and top views.
Be prepared to have some patience with this one but once you’ve done it, you’ll gain Achievement: Platonic Link.
Inside the locked door, you’ll find a clue we will need later, mentioning how there’s a Ritual in the Spiral Castle Library. Furthermore, there’s also a single gravestone too. This is important so try to remember this for later on!
Maze to The Hill
The final route is the Hill, which can be reached by following the clues surrounding the trees and cats. Head back into the maze and keep an eye on your surroundings. The trick to reaching the Hill is to watch for the cats that pop up. In every section of the Maze, you’ll find a large tree surrounded by four mini-doorways.
Wherever the cat is sitting, that’s the location you need to travel through. However, sometimes cats won’t show up so you can either brute-force your way through the doorways until one does show, or switch to Lupi and bark at each doorway until you hear a meow. Then enter. For that reason, you want to make sure you turn down the Music once more so you don’t miss anything!
The Hill
At the Hill, there’s not a lot to see beyond a Cursed Item to the north west of the Hill section. It’s just next to a Bloodsucking Zombie so watch out! There’s also a radio shack to the right where you can grab some supplies, and also a cracked piano with a recording.
I’d suggest giving this recording listen as it mentions the Fissure (which this section overlooks) and this is where we’ll be returning to later on in the game.
For now though, and with everything completed, it’s time to leave the Graveyard and head over to Crystal Cave!
