Emily in Paris – Season 4 Episode 2 “Love on the Run” Recap and Review

Love on the Run

Episode 2 of Emily in Paris Season 4 starts with Emily learning that Camille was supposedly in Greece with her girlfriend – Sofia. Mindy asks Emily to tell Gabriel the truth about Camille’s affair with Sofia and leaves to meet Nicolas who has been apologising profusely for what happened at the French Open.

Emily sees how Gabriel is having a hard time looking for Camille and reaches out to Sofia. Gabriel tells Emily how worried he was for Camille and Emily finally reveals the truth about Camille cheating on him with Sofia. Gabriel loses his mind and scolds Emily for hiding the truth from him. Emily states that she was trying to mind her business.

Gabriel calms down and tells Emily that he will get in touch with Camille’s family. Meanwhile, Laurent tells Sylvie that Louis has agreed to allow Agence Grateu, Sylvie’s company to market his club once it is launched. Sylvie is hesitant but agrees for Laurent’s sake. Julien joins JVMA as a new employee while Mindy shows up there to meet Nicolas.

The couple reconcile when Nicolas promises to stand up for her in front of his father in the future. He takes her to the brand closet which cheers her up. Mindy confesses that she sold the outfit Nicolas had given her to collect money for the Eurovision contest.

At the office, Sylvie tells Luc and Emily that Julien has quit and adds that no employee is permanent when Emily sympathises with her. She distributes the work Julien worked on between Luc and Emily. Luc refuses to take on the luxury brand – Boucheron’s marketing event.

Luc is underconfident about the brand but Sylvie is adamant. Luc uses an in-ear AirPod to get inputs from Julien about the event. There are some communication errors but Sylvie, Luc and Emily manage to appease the client. Meanwhile, Mindy is still shopping from the brand closet when she learns that female shoppers were forced to try on dresses in front of Louis.

She goes home and tells Emily about it, wondering how she can bring up this issue with Nicolas. Just then, Sofia calls Emily to let her know that Camille is not in Greece with her. Emily starts to panic now that she knows Camille is really missing. She shows up at Gabriel’s restaurant and tells him that Camille is really missing.

Gabriel suggests that they look for her in Megeve where Camille’s family has a house. The next day, Louis meets Laurent and Sylvie for a business meeting. There, Louis brings up his past issues with Sylvie but the latter him to keep their relationship professional for Laurent’s sake.

Emily wonders if working with Louis is a good idea and brings up the fact that Mindy was asked to try on her dress in front of Louis. Sylvie is shocked to learn how women are still being abused at JVMA and asks Emily to tell her all about it. Emily meets Camille’s friends and learns that Camille must have left Paris to abort her child because abortion was illegal there.

She shows up at Boucheron’s marketing event where Luc tries to scare her about Camille getting lost. Emily realises that she still has access to Camille’s GPS location. She learns that Camille is in Giverny and goes to look for her. Nicolas leaves Julien shocked when he tells him that he has to work on an exclusive project with Pierre Cadault.

Meanwhile, Luc tries his best to run the Boucheron event smoothly. The client claims that there was something missing at the event and asks for Emily. Luc thinks on his feet and sets up an impromptu scavenger hunt. He asks the guests to follow the Boucheron Instagram account and solve daily puzzles if they want to win a chance to buy an expensive pendant.

The clients are not on board with this idea but Luc explains that it was a lie to keep the guests engaged with their social media account. Emily arrives at the House of Claude Monet in Giverny and tries to talk to Camille who is cleaning lily pads there.

Emily tries to talk to Camille and the two fight. She accuses Camille of ending her relationship with Gabriel by blaming her while hiding her own relationship with Sofia. Camille blames Emily for being guilty about what happened between her and Gabriel.

Eventually, Camille apologises to Emily and agrees to return to Paris. However, Sofia shows up in Paris at Gabriel’s restaurant worried about Camille. Gabriel tells her that Emily is bringing Camille to Paris and Sofia is relieved. At the same time, the journalist calls Sylvie to get some information on Louis but Sylvie refuses to talk to her.

Some time later, Emily shows up with Camille who meets Gabriel and Sofia. The episode ends with Emily trying to give the trio some space while Gabriel stands there awkwardly as Camille and Sofia confess their love for each other.

The Episode Review

I really want Gabriel and Emily to end up together and hopefully, the makers will not drag this any longer. The two have been in love with each other for all of the first three seasons of Emily in Paris but their timing has never been right.

The sexual harassment of women at JVMA needs to be stopped. I am certain Sylvie’s interference in the issue will possibly ruin Laurent’s chances of getting an investment from Louis.

I cannot wait to see our main boss women – Sylvie and Mindy – get together to bring down a predator like Louis. One can also assume that this could possibly end Mindy’s relationship with Nicolas and I am not looking forward to that!
