Those Who are Not Protected
Episode 11 of Dungeon People begins with Fen discussing the Antomurg Dungeon with Latta. Latta tells Fen about several murderers who have arrived at the Antomurg Dungeon. He describes what these murderers allegedly look like and suggests they keep an eye on them. Then, we cut away to the Adventurers’ Guild Lobby.
A female explorer observes the group of alleged murderers and notes how calm they are. Then, we see a group of explorers fighting goblins. The long-haired member of this group gives the novice explorers advice. Then, he and his allies depart. The woman from earlier examines this group from a distance and joins them.
Another woman visits the Adventurers’ Guild Guildmaster’s Room next. The Guildmaster tells the girl the higher-ups have taken a liking to the murderer group. He explains the differences between the Adventurers’ Guild and Thieves’ Guild to the girl. Since the murderers are doing exceptionally well, he argues they can avoid punishment.
The girl shares the Thieves’ Guild’s take on the murderous group. Then, Hilkemast, the long-haired member of the group, introduces himself to the woman and the guildmaster. He also introduces his comrades Buggs and Atoto to the two. A girl in a blue uniform similar to the one who is speaking with the Guildmaster introduces herself as Millielent.
The girl who looks like Millielent tells the Guildmaster that Millielent is a priestess who easily warmed up to Hilkemast and the others. The girl says she’ll try to resolve the Hilkemast problem and departs. Renfringe appears behind the guildmaster. He says he and his buddies will handle Hilkemast and his group too.
Someone sends Belle a message. Belle regroups with Rangard and Clay at Rangard’s workplace. Clay wonders what’s happening. Belle tells Clay that someone is messing with other explorers in the dungeon. She knows her predecessor allowed these activities to unfold in the dungeon in the past.
Belle doesn’t want that to happen anymore in her dungeon and asks Clay to maintain the dungeon’s peace. She wants to capture the murderers’ group and make an example out of them. Clay receives a new outfit and Belle says they’ll wait for the rulebreakers to break the rules. Belle says they will proceed with their mission once they do.
Then, we cut away to Hilkemast and his party fighting monsters. Millielent is with them and Hilkemast thanks her for tagging along. Buggs attacks Millielent and Hilkemast explains why Buggs did such a thing. Belle senses something amiss in the dungeon and plans to confront those folks with Clay.
Belle informs Clay that Hilkemast and his buddies are murderers. She and Clay depart to Hilkemast and his group’s location. While Hilkemast and his party confront Millielent, several golems arrive. Hilkemast and his team leave Millielent alone with the golems. Millielent thinks she’ll die but the golems give her her mace and tell her to leave.
Hilkemast and his team explore the dungeon more. They discover a golem nearby. Unbeknownst to Hilkemast and Buggs, Belle appears behind them to whisk Atoto away. Hilkemast and Buggs fight a golem. Belle whisks Buggs and Hilkemast away to the Antomurg Dungeon’s final room.
Hilkemast and Buggs notice Atoto nearby and Belle introduces herself to them. Clay is standing next to Belle, too. Hilkemast knows Belle might be a dangerous threat. However, Hilkemast argues he and his buddies stand a chance since they’re not tired. Hilkemast and his party fight Clay and Belle.
Clay defeats Buggs and tells Hilkemast Atoto chose to flee. Hilkemast tries to negotiate with Belle, but Belle refuses his offer. She murders Hilkemast with her staff and defeats Atoto seconds later with her power arrow. Meanwhile, Millielent encounters Fen’s group. She doesn’t know if she can trust him and his friends.
The episode ends with Fen’s group looking down upon him.
The Episode Review
While Dungeon People episode 11 tackles an interesting topic, it feels out of place. Much like Solo Leveling, Dungeon People should have tackled this subject sooner rather than now. That aside, it’s interesting how Dungeon People’s been slowly portraying Belle as this frightening and powerful administrator as of late.
This episode went full force with that depiction. From Belle secretly whisking Hilkemast’s teammates away to her splitting Atoto in half, some fans may feel uneasy about Belle’s actions. Additionally, some may find this tone shift slightly jarring. Normally, Dungeon People’s atmosphere leans toward the peaceful route.
If anything, it shows fans why Belle is an administrator many shouldn’t take lightly. Also, it was intriguing to hear the guildmaster’s take on Adventures’ and Thieves’ Guild’s handling of matters. It’s a shame the higher-ups are slightly corrupt. Hopefully, Dungeon People can expand upon that idea further in another season if it happens.
But all in all, this was a fine endeavor that should appeal to the show’s fandom.
