The Majin Buu Saga
One Piece may be Shonen Jump’s current powerhouse. However, Eichiro Oda and other mangaka owe a lot to Akira Toriyama. While Toriyama wasn’t the first person in Japan to publish comics, he’s certainly one of the best. From Wonder Island to Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, Toriyama’s made quite a career for himself.
However, one of Toriyama’s greatest works was Dragon Ball. Inspired by the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West, Dragon Ball follows Goku and his friends’ quest for the seven magic dragon balls. After facing countless foes and obstacles, Goku and his friends found peace.
At least for a while until certain alien warriors called Saiyans arrived to ruin it all. In this series of recaps, we’ll explore Goku and his friends’ adventures in Dragon Ball Z (Z). This article will cover Z’s fourth saga, the Majin Buu Saga.
How does the Majin Buu Saga begin?
The saga begins seven years after Gohan defeated Cell. Gohan is 16 and attends Satan City’s Orange Star High School. Once Gohan arrives near his school, he spots several robbers. Gohan defeats them as a Super Saiyan. He returns to normal and bumps into Mr. Satan’s daughter, Videl.
A pedestrian tells Videl a gold-haired guy defeated the crooks. Videl attends class. She and her friends discuss the gold-haired guy. Gohan arrives and interacts with Videl and her friends. He learns about the gold-haired guy and realizes they’re referring to him.
During this discussion, Gohan learns Videl is Satan’s daughter. Gohan tries to keep a low profile during school. Videl tries interrogating Gohan, but Gohan hides somewhere. Gohan heads to Bulma’s home to ask her for advice.
What is Gohan’s superhero identity’s name? What happens after Videl discovers Gohan’s secret identity?
Gohan asks Bulma to make Gohan a disguise so he can fight crime. Bulma builds and gives Gohan a disguise. Gohan departs and finds his first batch of criminals. He stops their vehicle, introduces himself as the Great Saiyaman, and instills fear in the crooks by destroying the ground.
The troublemakers flee. Some time passes. Gohan, Chi-Chi, and her youngest son, Goten, chat outside. Gohan eavesdrops on Videl speaking with someone through a device. Videl departs. Erasa, one of Videl’s friends, tells Gohan that Videl works with Satan City’s police to fight crime.
Gohan departs from school, dons his Great Saiyaman disguise, and captures the criminals for Videl’s sake. Videl confronts Gohan. During this confrontation, Videl learns Gohan is Great Saiyaman. Videl promises Gohan she won’t tell the others, but Gohan mustn’t share her secret in return.
Videl convinces Gohan to participate in the upcoming Budokai Tournament.
How is Goku able to compete in the Budokai Tournament? Does Videl learn how to fly?
Gohan returns to Bulma’s home and informs her about what happened between him and Videl. Bulma gives Gohan something to hide his face with. Vegeta and Goku tell Gohan they’ll compete in the Budokai Tournament. Goku says he can return to Earth for one day after chatting with Baba about it.
Gohan departs to inform Krillin, Piccolo, and the others about Goku and the upcoming tournament. He heads home and discusses matters with Chi-Chi and Goten. Chi-Chi tells Gohan she’ll let him compete since they could use the prize money.
Gohan and Goten train the next day. Goten transforms into a Super Saiyan. He tells Gohan that Chi-Chi taught him things during their study sessions. Videl arrives and greets Chi-Chi. She tells Chi-Chi that Gohan’s helping her train.
During this training session, Videl learns how to fly. Videl also cuts her hair per Gohan’s recommendation. Vegeta and Trunks (from the present timeline) train somewhere. During their training session, Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan, surprising Vegeta. Trunks argue he’s stronger than Goten.
Who do Gohan and his friends meet at the tournament? Who wins the tournament’s youth division?
Tournament day arrives. Gohan is aboard one of Bulma’s planes along with Vegeta, Chi-Chi, and the others. Our heroes arrive at the tournament. Satan, Videl, and Goku arrive seconds later. Trunks and Goten learn they can’t fight the adults. Our heroes sign up and catch up with the tournament’s announcer.
Then, the tournament preliminary matches begin. The announcer says only 16 people will compete and Satan is one of them. The participants must punch something. Whoever has the hardest punch will move on.
After several tryouts, Piccolo, Goku, Gohan, Videl, Krillin, 18, Vegeta, Goten, and Trunks are among those who move on. Goku tells Gohan that he, Vegeta, and the others will observe Trunks and Goten’s fights.
The announcer reveals the monetary prizes. He states whoever wins gets a chance to fight Satan. After several fights, Goten and Trunks fight. Gohan and Videl join Goku and the others. After several energy blasts and fisticuffs, Trunks wins.
How do Trunks, Krillin, and Piccolo’s matches go? Who is Shin?
Satan enters the arena and challenges Trunks. He tells Trunks to punch him lightly so he can pretend to lose to him. Trunks knock Satan out of the arena. Satan plays it off like he lost to Trunks on purpose. The crowd cheers for Satan.
Goku and the others head to the adult division’s waiting area. Trunks and Goten spot a participant. Trunks and Goten knock out the participant and steal his clothes. Trunks and Goten plan to enter the adult division in disguise. After our heroes eat, they head somewhere to draw lots.
Before they arrive, Kibito and Shin greet them. Shin tells Goku he’s looking forward to fighting him. Eventually, our heroes draw lots and the announcer reveals who will fight whom in the first round.
After he explains the rules and regulations, Krillin fights and defeats Punta. After that, Piccolo and Shin enter the arena for their match. Shin taunts Piccolo and Piccolo forfeits. Spopovich and Videl enter the arena next. Piccolo and Shin chat and Piccolo learns Shin is the Supreme Kai.
Does Videl defeat Spopovich? Does Gohan transform into a Super Saiyan per Kibito’s request?
Videl and Spopovich fight. Videl seems to have the upper hand but Spopovich retaliates. Spopovich pummels Videl and Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan. Spopovich’s ally, Yamu, convinces Spopovich to stop torturing Videl. Spopovich throws Videl out of the arena. Gohan grabs Videl and brings her to the medical room.
Goku departs to Karin’s place to get Senzu Beans. Satan arrives at the medical room and thanks Gohan for helping Videl. Gohan departs, grabs a Senzu Bean from Goku, and returns to the medical room to give it to Videl.
Videl eats the Senzu Bean and her wounds heal. Gohan heads to the arena to fight Kibito. Kibito tells Gohan to transform into a Super Saiyan. Kibito wants to know if he and Shin can rely on Gohan for something. Shin tells Goku and the others not to get involved.
He argues that Spocovich and Yamu will get involved though. Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan 2.
What does Shin share with Goku and his allies? What does Videl promise to do when Gohan returns?
Yamu and Spopovich enter the arena. They drain Gohan’s energy with a device and depart. Shin tells the others that Kibito will treat Gohan’s wounds. He plans to follow Yamu and Spopovich. Shin departs. Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, and Vegeta follow Shin.
Kibito heals Gohan. Gohan and Videl depart with Kibito somewhere. Meanwhile, Shin informs Goku and his friends about Bibidi and Majin Buu. Shin states that Bibidi concealed Buu because Buu’s power took a toll on him.
Shin confirms that Bibidi has a son named Babidi. Shin argues that Babidi wants to restore Buu but needs enough energy to complete the task. Kibito tells Gohan and Videl that Babidi ordered Spopovich and Yamu to participate in the Budokai Tournament to steal fighters’ energy.
Before Videl and Gohan part ways, Videl learns Satan didn’t defeat Cell and that Gohan was the alleged gold-haired guy. Also, Videl promises to date Gohan when he returns to the Budokai.
What happens to Spopovich and Yamu? What does Dabura do to Krillin and Piccolo?
Meanwhile, Kibito’s group meets with Shin’s. They hide behind rocks and spot the Demon Realm’s King, Dabura, exiting a shelter with Babidi. Shin informs our heroes about Babidi and Dabura. Kibito says Babidi can manipulate people with evil in their hearts.
He argues only pure-hearted people can confront Babidi. After Yamu and Spopovich deliver the energy canister to Babidi, Babidi and his henchman, Pui Pui, kill them. Babidi tells Dabura to defeat some of Shin’s allies. Then, Babidi and Pui Pui re-enter the shelter.
Dabura kills Kibito and turns Krillin and Piccolo to stone with his powers. Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, and Shin follow Dabura. The four enter Babidi’s ship. They must fight numerous opponents and reach the ship’s center area to make Babidi pay.
Who wins the Budokai Tournament? What happens to Vegeta after Dabura fights Gohan?
Meanwhile, 18 and Mighty Mask (Trunks/Goten) compete in a five-man battle royale event. The two eliminate two other participants, leaving 18, Mighty Mask, and Satan as the remaining combatants. 18 exposes Mighty Mask as Trunks and Goten and the boys get disqualified.
Satan bribes 18 with prize money and becomes the tournament’s champion. Meanwhile, Goten and Trunks meet with Videl. Videl informs the boys about what Gohan and the others are up to. The boys depart. Meanwhile, Dabura fights Gohan. Something peculiar catches Dabura’s eye, so he returns to Babidi’s side.
Dabura tells Babidi to manipulate Vegeta. He argues Vegeta will give him the power he needs to restore Buu. Babidi complies, manipulates Vegeta, and returns Vegeta and the others to the tournament. Vegeta murders people with ki blasts.
Enraged, Goku tells Babidi to transport him and the others someplace else. Babidi complies.
Does Buu get resurrected? What happens to Dabura?
While Goku prepares to fight Vegeta, Gohan and Shin enter Babidi’s ship. Babidi transports Dabura, Gohan, Shin, and himself somewhere. Before Gohan fights Dabura, Babidi notices Buu’s sphere is at full power. Meanwhile, Vegeta reveals why he didn’t fight off Babidi’s magic.
Vegeta argues that Spopovich and Yamu were way stronger under Babidi’s control. He felt Babidi’s magic would give him the power necessary to defeat Goku. Also, Vegeta isn’t happy that Goku influenced him to live an average human life.
Meanwhile, Buu exits the sphere. Although everyone thinks Buu’s useless, Buu kicks Dabura into some boulders. Vegeta recognizes his mistakes. He knocks out Goku, takes his Senzu Bean, and plans to defeat Buu. Meanwhile, Buu pulverizes Shin and Gohan before they can escape.
Dabura prevents Buu from killing Shin. Buu turns Dabura into a cookie and eats him.
What happens during Vegeta’s fight with Buu? Does Buu survive?
Piccolo and Krillin return to normal. Trunks and Goten arrive and chat with them. Meanwhile, Vegeta blows up Babidi’s ship and confronts Babidi and Buu. Vegeta fights Buu and struggles. Trunks kicks Buu away from Vegeta while Piccolo handles Babidi.
Vegeta tells Trunks to look after Bulma for him. Vegeta knocks out Trunks and Goten. Piccolo confronts Vegeta. Vegeta tells Piccolo to flee with the kids. Piccolo understands and knows Vegeta plans to die. He tells Vegeta his soul will travel to a new place after dying.
However, once Vegeta’s soul purifies, Piccolo says Vegeta will receive a new body and his memory will be erased. Piccolo and Krillin flee the area with the kids. Vegeta uses his Final Explosion attack and dies. Piccolo tells Krillin to inform everyone about what happened.
Krillin departs with Goten and Trunks and Piccolo revisits the battlefield. Buu reforms and Piccolo flees to tell Krillin.
What details do Goku and Dende reveal about the fusion technique? Where does Goku plan to go?
Buu restores Babidi. He and Babidi depart to cause chaos. Meanwhile, Shin looks for Gohan. At the same time, Goku and the others head to the Lookout to discuss. Goku brings up fusion. Dende elaborates on the subject. He confirms the fusion technique originates from Planet Metamor.
Goku confirms two people of the same size and power can perform the technique. Once fused, the two people become one and will achieve a power greater than they had when separated. Krillin suggests Goku fuse with Gohan or Vegeta, but Piccolo shoots down both ideas.
Mr. Popo argues Goten and Trunks should fuse instead. Goku promises to help the boys learn fusion. He wants Piccolo to help the kids learn the fusion technique once his time on Earth expires. Then, the sky turns dark. Our heroes learn someone’s using the Dragon Balls and they speculate Bulma’s using them.
Goku plans to teleport to Bulma before they use up all the wishes.
What does Babidi want the earthlings to do? What happens at the Sacred World of the Kais?
Meanwhile, Yamcha asks Shenron to resurrect all the good people who died. Then, Goku arrives and tells Shenron that they’ll save their second and third wish for another time. Shin finds Kibito and updates him on their situation. He argues that Gohan has the potential to surpass Buu.
Shin and Kibito find Gohan in a forest. They travel to the Sacred World of the Kais. Meanwhile, Chi-Chi, Bulma, and the others are on the Lookout now. Goku informs them about what happened to Gohan and Vegeta. Then, Babidi uses his powers to communicate with everyone.
Babidi tells everyone to bring Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks to him in five days. Otherwise, Babidi will order Buu to eat everyone. Babidi flees somewhere with Buu. Meanwhile, Kibito heals Gohan. Shin tells Gohan that he wants him to crush Buu with the Z-Sword. Shin and Kibito lead Gohan to the Z-Sword.

Why does Goku stall Babidi and Buu? Who kills Babidi?
Gohan picks up the Z-Sword and says it’s heavy. Kibito urges Gohan to master the Z-Sword. Meanwhile, Goku tells the boys they can only remain in the fusion for 30 minutes. Goten and Trunks refuse to listen to Goku. They argue he’s a coward.
After Babidi and Buu kill more people, Trunks and Goten comply with Goku’s wishes. Some time passes. Babidi contacts everyone. He wants Buu to kill everyone in Bulma’s neighborhood. Bulma convinces Goku to stop Babidi and Buu.
Goku asks Trunks to head home and grab the Dragon Radar. Meanwhile, Goku confronts Babidi and Buu. He tries convincing Buu to turn on Babidi but his plan doesn’t work. Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 and fights Buu.
King Kai is concerned. Kai knows that Goku’s time on Earth will dwindle if he keeps fighting in this form. Goku senses Trunks’s ki and returns to normal. He tells Babidi and Buu that a strong opponent will come in two days. Goku doesn’t want Babidi and Buu to kill any more people until then.
Goku departs. Buu kills Babidi since he’s not useful to him.
Why didn’t Goku go all out against Buu? Who tells Goku that Gohan survived?
Buu terrorizes a town. On the Lookout, Goku tells Piccolo that he has little time left because Super Saiyan 3 uses much energy. Baba arrives. She tells Goku he only has 30 minutes left. Goku tells Piccolo why he didn’t go all out against Buu.
Goku says he wanted the young ones to save the world for a change. Trunks returns with the Dragon Radar. Goku demonstrates the Metamor Fusion Dance in front of the boys with Piccolo. Meanwhile, Buu visits a town. Buu turns everyone into clay and builds a home for himself.
While Goku and Piccolo help the boys with the dance, Baba arrives to take Goku back to the Other World. Goku departs and chats with King Enma in Other World. Enma tells Goku that Goku didn’t stop by, indicating to Goku that Gohan is alive. Goku senses Gohan’s ki and teleports to the Sacred World of the Kais.

What’s happening with Trunks, Goten, and Buu on Earth? How does Goku convince Old Kai to help them?
A day later, Trunks and Goten struggle to perform the Metamor Fusion Dance. Meanwhile, Buu meets a blind boy, heals him, and destroys a town afterward. Elsewhere, Shin summons a Katchin block. Katchin is the hardest metal in the universe.
He tosses it to Goku. Goku throws it at Gohan so he can test the Z-Sword. The Z-Sword breaks to everyone’s surprise. Gohan thinks he’s become stronger just by wielding the sword. Then, Old Kai greets our heroes and tells Gohan he’s wrong.
Old Kai reveals he’s the Supreme Kai from 15 generations back. He confirms someone sealed him in the Z-Sword. Goku blasts Old Kai and Old Kai yells at him. Old Kai says he has a special power that could assist them in stopping Buu.
Goku tells Old Kai that he’ll let him touch Bulma’s chest and butt if he can showcase his secret power. Old Kai accepts Goku’s offer. Goku tells Gohan he’ll need to tell Bulma about this deal later.
Do Goten and Trunks succeed with their fusion? What happens between Mr. Satan and Buu?
Old Kai confirms he can draw out a person’s hidden abilities. He asks Gohan to stand somewhere. Old Kai performs a strange ritual and says it’ll take a long time. Meanwhile, Goten and Trunks perform the fusion dance. However, they fail twice.
Eventually, the boys succeed and Gotenks is born. Piccolo tells Gotenks to wait here and fuse again when they’re Super Saiyans. Gotenks argues his “base form” is enough to defeat Buu. Gotenks departs to fight Buu and returns with several bruises.
Piccolo tells Gotenks they should use their final day to train. A day passes. Buu’s wiped out many people but Satan plans to stop Buu’s murder spree. Satan and two men head near Buu’s home. The former tells the men to flee.
Satan enters Buu’s home and realizes Buu’s not there. Buu spots Satan near his home. Satan gives Buu gourmet chocolates. The chocolates contain poison but the poison doesn’t affect Buu. Satan tries other devices but none of them work on Buu.
What happens between Satan, Buu, and the two poachers?
After Satan snaps a photo of himself defeating Buu, he and Buu spend time together. Satan vows to make Buu pay for what he’s done. After Gotenks’s second encounter with Buu fails, Buu and Satan hang out more. Buu leaves to torture more people. Satan plans to blow Buu up with dynamite when he returns.
Buu returns with an injured dog (Bee). He wonders why Bee didn’t flee from him. Satan explains why and Buu heals Bee. Bee takes a liking to Buu. Satan departs to get Bee some food. Satan returns with the food and Bee eats it.
Satan convinces Buu not to kill people or destroy towns. While Buu’s playing with Bee, two poachers arrive and shoot Bee. Satan attacks the poachers. Buu heals Bee. Satan and Buu celebrate Bee’s recovery. Piccolo and Dende observe the three from the Lookout.
Then, one of the poachers shoots Satan. Satan survives but something’s happening to Buu. Buu tells Satan to take Bee and run away. Satan flees with Bee. Buu’s evil essence escapes and forms into a being called Evil Buu. We’ll refer to the original Buu as Fat Buu.
What does Evil Buu do to Fat Buu? Why does Gohan yell at Old Kai?
Evil Buu kills the poacher and reflects Fat Buu’s candy beam at him. He eats Fat Buu and becomes Super Buu. Super Buu kills the second poacher and tries to harm Satan and Bee. However, Super Buu decides not to harm Satan, all thanks to Fat Buu’s memory of the two.
Super Buu heads to the Lookout. There, Super Buu tells Piccolo to bring out the person who was supposed to fight him. Super Buu doesn’t want to wait. Piccolo suggests Super Buu kill Earth’s remaining inhabitants.
Super Buu kills most of humanity with his Human Extinction Attack. Piccolo brings out an hourglass. He tells Super Buu to wait for the hourglass’s sand to fall. Super Buu says he’ll wait. However, Super Buu promises to kill everyone once the sand falls. Piccolo asks Krillin to wake Goten and Trunks up.
He wants Goten and Trunks to train in the Room of Spirit and Time until the sand falls. Meanwhile, Gohan yells at Old Kai, powers up, and apologizes. Gohan sits down and lets Old Kai continue his ritual.
What happens to Chi-Chi? What happens when Super Buu escapes the Room of Spirit and Time?
Chi-Chi yells at Super Buu. Super Buu turns Chi-Chi into an egg and kills her. While Piccolo catches Videl up on Satan and Fat Buu’s friendship, Super Buu tells Piccolo he doesn’t want to wait anymore. Piccolo leads Super Buu to the Room of Spirit and Time.
Super Buu and Piccolo enter the area. Trunks and Goten fuse into Gotenks and fight Super Buu. During their fight, Gotenks transforms into a Super Saiyan. With his Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack move, Gotenks defeats Super Buu.
However, Super Buu restores himself and fights Gotenks again. Piccolo blasts the area’s entrance and tells Super Buu he’ll never leave. Super Buu yells and opens a pathway to the Lookout. Super Buu returns to the Lookout and turns everyone there into chocolate.
Goku observes everything from Old Kai’s orb. Meanwhile, Gotenks transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 and yells. Gotenks opens a pathway, allowing him and Piccolo to escape. Gotenks fights Super Buu.
What does Super Buu do to Piccolo and Gotenks? What does Old Kai do for Goku’s sake?
Gotenks returns to his base form before he can kill Super Buu. Also, Gotenks’s fusion runs out. Goku tells Old Kai to hurry up with the ritual. Old Kai tells everyone that he finished the ritual five minutes ago. Gohan tests his new form out. Gohan heads to Earth with Kibito.
Kibito and Gohan arrive on Earth. Kibito departs and Gohan looks for Super Buu. Gohan arrives and the others inform him about what Super Buu did. Gohan fights Super Buu. Super Buu is no match for Gohan. Super Buu lets out an enormous energy barrier but Gohan saves the others.
Gohan, Piccolo, and the boys look for Dende. They pick up Satan and Bee along the way. Our group finds Dende and Super Buu arrives minutes later. He convinces Goten and Trunks to fuse again. Super Buu absorbs Piccolo and Gotenks.
Super Buu and Gohan continue fighting. Goku’s afraid Gohan will die. Old Kai sacrifices his life for Goku’s. Goku is no longer dead.
What details does Old Kai share about Potara Fusion? Who is Vegeto?
While Super Buu and Gohan fight, Old Kai hands Goku his Potara Earrings. Old Kai tells Goku how to use the earrings. He says it has ties to Potara Fusion. Kibito and Shin demonstrate the fusion. Meanwhile, Tien arrives on the battlefield to support Gohan. Old Kai tells Goku that the Potara Fusion lasts forever.
He tells Goku that he can only use the Potara once in life. Old Kai admits he and an old witch fused in the past. Goku arrives on Earth and prevents Super Buu from hurting Gohan and the others. Goku tosses the second potara to Gohan but Gohan doesn’t catch it.
Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3. Before Super Buu attacks Goku, Gotenks’s fusion runs out. Super Buu is wearing Piccolo’s clothes now. However, Super Buu absorbs Gohan, leaving Goku with no one worthwhile to fuse with.
Goku senses Vegeta’s ki and teleports to him. Vegeta and Goku fuse and become Vegeto. Vegeto transforms into a Super Saiyan and fights Super Buu. Super Buu resorts to turning Vegeto into coffee candy. However, Vegeto continues pulverizing Super Buu.
Does Vegeto get absorbed? Who is Kid Buu?
Super Buu turns Vegeto to normal and “absorbs” Vegeto. Super Buu realizes he hasn’t changed. Meanwhile, Vegeto confirms his barrier technique prevented Super Buu from “absorbing” him. Vegeto defuses and Vegeta and Goku are back. Goku and Vegeta break their potara earrings.
He and Vegeta free Gohan and the others. Super Buu returns to his regular state. Goku and Vegeta find Fat Buu. Super Buu arrives. He tells Goku and Vegeta that Fat Buu is here under special conditions.
Goku tries opening a path inside Super Buu but fails. Vegeta frees Fat Buu. Goku and Vegeta escape from Super Buu’s body with the others. Super Buu transforms into Kid Buu. Shin recognizes Kid Buu from a past encounter.
He delves into detail about the former Kaioshins. Shin states Kid Buu became weaker and more kind-hearted after absorbing the South and Great Kaioshin. Shin confirms Kid Buu is Majin Buu’s original and most dangerous form.
Does Kid Buu destroy Earth? Does Fat Buu return?
Before Kid Buu destroys Earth, Shin rescues Goku, Vegeta, Satan, Bee, and Dende. The surviving warriors arrive at the Sacred World of the Kais. Dende reminds our heroes about New Namek. He argues Moori may have created Dragon Balls there.
Old Kai tells Shin to hand Goku and Vegeta his potara earrings. Goku and Vegeta crush them. Kid Buu teleports to the Sacred World of the Kais and confronts our heroes. Shin teleports Dende and Old Kai to a new planet.
Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 and fights Kid Buu. Vegeta reflects on Goku and himself. He wishes Goku the best of luck in this fight. While Kid Buu restores himself, Goku and Vegeta discuss a plan. Vegeta tells Goku to build up his ki. Meanwhile, Vegeta will fight Kid Buu.
Kid Buu pulverizes Vegeta. Satan taunts Kid Buu. Kid Buu abandons Vegeta to fight Satan. Kid Buu stops. Satan argues Kid Buu is afraid of him. Kid Buu spits Fat Buu out. Kid Buu punches Satan and before he can seriously hurt Satan, Fat Buu intervenes.
What happens during Fat Buu’s fight with Kid Buu? What is Vegeta’s plan?
Fat Buu fights Kid Buu. Goku runs out of energy and returns to his base form. Fat Buu tells Satan he can’t defeat Kid Buu. Vegeta tells Dende, Shin, and Old Kai to travel to New Namek. Dende and the others arrive there. Vegeta tells Dende to summon Purunga. Then, Vegeta wants Dende to wish for Earth’s restoration.
Vegeta wants Dende to use the second wish to revive all the non-evil people who died after the recent tournament. He tells Dende he can use the third wish on anything. Porunga grants both wishes. Earth, its kind-hearted inhabitants, and Vegeta are revived.
King Kai interrupts Shin and Vegeta’s conversation. He tells Vegeta he’ll help him communicate with the earthlings. Vegeta wants the earthlings to supply Goku with enough energy for a Genki-Dama. He wants Goku to destroy Kid Buu with the Genki-Dama.
Goku’s Genki-Dama takes shape but Vegeta learns not all the earthlings are contributing. They argue Vegeta is a mean nobody. Meanwhile, Kid Buu plans to finish off Fat Buu. Vegeta fights Kid Buu. Goku tries convincing more earthlings to lend him energy. Only a few more people contribute.
Does Goku defeat Kid Buu? Does Vegeta kill Fat Buu?
Satan chimes in. More earthlings lend Goku their energy. Goku tells Vegeta to escape but Vegeta can’t move. Satan saves Vegeta and tells Goku to throw the Genki-Dama at Kid Buu. Goku throws the Genki-Dama at Kid Buu. Kid Buu’s trying to push it back.
Dende tells Purunga to restore Goku’s energy. Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan. Goku praises Kid Buu for his strength and hopes he’ll be reborn as a good guy. Kid Buu dies. Everyone celebrates Kid Buu’s death. Shin, Dende, and Old Kai regroup with Goku’s group.
Vegeta spots Fat Buu and wants to kill him. Satan tells Vegeta not to kill Fat Buu. Goku tells Dende to heal Fat Buu. He tells Shin he’ll use Earth’s Dragon Balls to wipe away everyone’s memory of Majin Buu. Goku and the others head to the Lookout to celebrate.
After our heroes make the wish for everyone to lose their memory of Majin Buu, ten years pass.
What do Vegeta and Goku discuss in this ten-year time-skip? Who is Uub?
Trunks visits Gohan’s home. Gohan tells Trunks Goten is training with Goku. Bulma and Vegeta greet Goku. Goku teases Bulma about her old age. Vegeta tells Bulma Saiyans don’t age as fast as earthlings. Goku and Vegeta discuss the upcoming Budokai Tournament.
The former says a strong person is entering the tournament. Eventually, Trunks and Pan (Gohan and Videl’s daughter) arrive. Goku confirms Pan will compete in the tournament’s adult division. Meanwhile, Satan and Fat Buu discuss the upcoming tournament. Satan wants Fat Buu to lose against him.
Goku, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta, and Pan arrive. The former tells Satan they’ll be competing. Goku promises Satan he and the others will let Satan win. Gohan, Chi-Chi, and the others are in the audience. Goku asks Fat Buu to manipulate the lottery. Fat Buu complies. Goku gets paired with a boy named Uub.
Goku confirms Uub is a reborn, kind-hearted variant of Evil Buu. He confirms he made a wish, asking Shenron to revive Evil Buu as a good guy. He also got Enma to support him.
How does the Majin Buu Saga end?
The first match begins between Pan and Mo Kekko. Pan defeats Mo Kekko with ease. Uub and Goku enter the arena afterward and fight. Goku insults Uub’s parents to get Uub to showcase his true strength. Goku notices Uub doesn’t know how to fly yet. He tells Uub he wants to travel to Uub’s homeland.
Goku wants to train Uub there. Goku shares his plans with his friends. Then, Goku departs with Uub. He tells Uub he wants to fight him again once Uub completes his training. Goku summons Kinto’un and Uub hops on it. He tells Uub how to use Kinto’un.
We receive a shot of Uub next to Kid Goku. As Goku and Uub head to Uub’s homeland, the narrator says more trouble may come soon but Goku knows he can rely on the Dragon Balls. The Majin Buu saga ends with Vegeta stating he will defeat Goku someday.
Conclusion
