Dragon Ball Daima – Season 1 Episode 8 Recap & Review

Episode 8 of Dragon Ball Daima begins with Goku fighting Tamagami Number 3. Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and breaks the Tamagami’s weapon. He and Tamagami Number 3 continue fighting. After Tamagami Number 3 reflects Goku’s Kamehameha, Goku attacks him. 

Tamagami Number 3 surrenders. However, Tamagami Number 3 tells Goku he must defeat him in a final battle to get his Dragon Ball. Tamagami Number 3 places several cups on a table. He places his Dragon Ball underneath one of the cups. Goku must guess where Dragon Ball is after Tamagami Number 3 shuffles the cups. 

Goku tells Tamagami Number 3 that he threw the Dragon Ball out while Tamagami Number 3 was shuffling the cups. Goku points out the Dragon Ball’s location and Tamagami Number 3 gives it to him. 

As Goku and his friends head somewhere, Arinsu calls Glorio. Glorio tells Arinsu that he and his friends obtained Tamgami Number 3’s Dragon Ball. Arinsu’s impressed and ends the call. She plans to move on to the next phase of her plan. 

Goku and his friends depart from Tamagami Number 3’s village. Glorio tells everyone that they’ll be heading to Warp next. He wants to visit the Second Demon World swiftly. Glorio says they’ll be taking sea and sky routes to avoid detection. 

Meanwhile, Degesu and Gomah observe footage of Majin Vegeta’s fight with Majin Buu. This is set after Vegeta used his Final Explosion attack and when Buu restored his body. Gomah learns Arinsu was at the scene and wonders what she was doing there. 

Arinsu is shown collecting pieces of Buu and storing them in a container. Meanwhile, Arinsu is at a tree-like location. She enters the tree and chats with her ally Marba. Marba is working on a concoction that contains a piece of Buu. 

Marba puts the concoction in a pot. She tells Arinsu that Bibidi made Buu, not her. Arisnu argues that Bibidi came to Marba and told her to make Buu. Although Buu killed most of Arinsu’s race, she promises Marba that she won’t tell anyone the truth. 

Marba tells Arinsu Buu was a failed creation and explains why. She argues this new creation should be more controllable. Marba asks Arinsu to drop her saliva in the jar and states it’ll make it easier for her to control this new monster.

Arinsu promises if she can become the Supreme Demon King she’ll give Marba a fine reward. She plans to use the Dragon Balls if things go bad for them. At the same time, Kadan calls Hybis. Kadan tells Hybis to visit Warp since Goku got Tamagami Number 3’s Dragon Ball. 

Kadan tells Hybis they can stay at a hotel and ends the call. Vegeta asks Hybis about the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls but Hybis ignores him. The episode ends with Bulma laughing. 

The Episode Review

Goku takes on Tamagami Number 3 in this week’s chapter of Dragon Ball Daima. The fight wasn’t long, but some moments were exciting. The battle wasn’t all fisticuffs and required Goku to utilize his memorization skills. This was a great idea. It reminds audiences that Goku isn’t all brawn.

Nonetheless, we’re hopeful Tamagami Number 1 and 2 will give Goku a better duel. However, the Tamagamis may not be the only adversaries Goku may want to look out for. Although Gomah and Degesu are problematic, Arinsu is arguably more troublesome. 

Arinsu’s collaborating with a mage to create a new version of Majin Buu. While the kind-hearted Buu exists in Dragon Ball, it’s intriguing that we’ll probably see the evil Buu return to a more enhanced and controllable state. Now that Arinsu’s goals were revealed this week, it’s only a matter of time until we learn about Glorio’s hidden motives. 

But all in all, this was an entertaining episode of Dragon Ball Daima. It was off to a slow start, but the lore and occasional battles make it a worthwhile watch.
