Third Eye
Episode 15 of Dragon Ball Daima begins with Goku and his friends fleeing from Gendarmerie soldiers. Goku and his allies take cover somewhere. Then, Goku gets shot, shakes it off, and destroys one of the Gendarmerie’s planes. Vegeta joins in and gets hurt in the process.
Goku gives Vegeta a Revive Bug so Vegeta can heal himself. Meanwhile, Gomah and Degesu observe our heroes from their usual location. Gomah realizes Hybis has the Third Eye attached to his belt. Goku and his friends continue fighting the Gendarmerie.
The Gendarmerie flee. Glorio tells Goku and the others to head for the Oparu District. Concurrently, Gomah tells Degesu that Abura once placed the Third Eye on his forehead. Gomah orders Degesu to take the Third Eye from Hybis and bring it to him.
The narrator chimes in. He tells the audience that the Third Eye is called the Tertian Oculus. The narrator confirms former Supreme Demon Kings place the Oculus on their forehead to achieve authority and power. He says someone stole the Oculus during Abura’s reign and many thought it was lost forever.
We enter a flashback. In it, Dabura hands someone a key to a large safe. Dabura tells the individual that the Oculus is inside the safe. He wants this person to steal the Oculus and head to Third Demon World. Dabura promises to contact the individual later.
Dabura’s minion obtains the Oculus and travels to the Third Demon World. His minion loses the Oculus and loses his communication device. Although Dabura can’t contact his minion, he’s glad the Oculus is gone.
The narrator claims Dabura became the new Supreme Demon King because Abura was powerless without the Oculus. However, after Majin Buu killed Dabura, Gomah claimed his throne. Then, in a flashback, we see Hybis hunting somewhere. Hybis finds the Oculus and places it on his belt.
Then, Goku and his friends arrive near Tamagami Number One’s location. The Gendarmerie attacks our heroes. They all take cover in different areas. Goku asks Neva for help. Neva says he’ll only help him and the others with their wish issues.
At the same time, a girl approaches Hybis. The girl wants Hybis’s belt and promises to kiss him if he hands it over. Hybis says he’ll give her his belt in exchange for her hat. Meanwhile, Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo defeat several Gendarmerie soldiers. Then, the Gendarmerie’s tank fleet arrives and attacks our heroes.
Kadan and his squad arrive on the battlefield. They help Goku’s group defeat the Gendarmerie’s tanks and soldiers. After Goku and his allies defeat the Gendarmerie, we shift our attention to Gomah and Degesu. Gomah’s enraged, but Degesu reminds Gomah that they can rely on the Gendarmerie Force.
The episode ends with Goku and Kadan’s group celebrating their victory.
The Episode Review
Dragon Ball Daima episode 15 leans heavily into the action. It features Goku and Kadan’s group battling the Gendarmerie soldiers. While some fans will have issues with the battle given how capable Piccolo, Goku, and Vegeta are, others will find this back-and-forth fight thrilling.
Moreover, it was nice seeing Kadan’s group arrive near the end. Kadan will likely become the new Supreme Demon King once our heroes defeat Gomah. At the same time, Akira Toriyama could throw a curveball and grant the Demon Realm’s throne to someone else.
Speaking of the Demon Realm’s royal history, this episode provides decent lore regarding Dabura’s rise to power and the Tertian Oculus. It’ll make fans wonder if Dabura would’ve been more formidable in Dragon Ball Z’s Majin Buu Saga if he had worn it. At the same time, Dabura’s way of achieving his high status shows that he wasn’t as capable as many had thought.
Dragon Ball Daima is slowly preparing audiences for an epic showdown between our heroes and their antagonists. I’m excited to see what will happen next.
