You’d think this album was going fully towards poppy tones, but there’s actually substance to it, a foundation that can carry the weight. Diva Bleach has sourced their music from heartbreak and downward spirals, where emotions are high and where hope creates its own meltdown. Can You Keep A Secret? Is this collective’s rebellious statement  –  their assessment of the world.

From lift off the music demonstrates a pop/rock sound, even with punk undertones catching on. Think Avril Lavigne from the early 2000’s and then you’ll be accustomed instantly. The sound also offers emotional and melancholic moments, breaking into emo, and gifting a load of dark tones.

The sound could be perceived as being too mainstream, but as a whole, the album’s unorthodox influence pulls it through the grit. A rush ascends in all songs, belting the atmosphere with a bang. And these choruses are infectious, often demanding attention.

‘Obsessed’ starts the record off. The chorus directs us to the pivotal moments of an ailing relationship. The musical foundations are intact, shifted, and secured well. It’s a pop/rock song and a mighty one at that.

‘Decay’ begins as a ballad, and the vocals spread the meaning of broken love. Every chime and beat carry the song along. The element of style is instilled creatively.

‘Torn In Two’ is infused with enough pop/rock sensibilities to count. The drama unfolds and the staggering through misery begins. That riff has spark, and the whole album has these little intricate moments.

Diva Bleach does not adhere to the rules with this album as they tell us their interesting anecdotes through the lyrics.
