The story takes place in a town called Most City in a specific country. On the second floor of an ancient building is a publishing company that produces a science journal called Delusional Monthly Journal, which features articles on surprising, odd happenings and unexplainable phenomena that cause even scientists to throw up their hands in defeat.
Its team consists only of a lovely editor-in-chief and her one editor, Taro J. Suzuki, who are joined by Jiro Tanaka, a grade school-aged assistant, and his dog, Saburo. The editing section is always unoccupied, and Taro, Jiro, and Saburo are generally found in Rock, a coffee shop on the first level. Gorō Satō, a scientist, pays them a visit for a consultation, which sparks an unusual story.

In Episode 4, the Delusional Monthly Magazine team contemplates covering White Pegasus but then decides to investigate Loch Nuss instead.
They encounter Noin and Perch who are looking for the Nussie fossil. Taro communicates with Yasuko’s spirit, guiding them to the fossil. Noin transforms into a Mortarian to secure the fossil and Perch is successful in doing so.
