Delicious In Dungeon – Season 1 Episode 11 Recap & Review

Red Dragon I.

Episode 11 of Delicious In Dungeon begins with Marcille pondering her part in Laios’s structure-collapsing plan. Once this is set and done, Marcille hopes she’ll be able to reconnect with Falin. Meanwhile, Laios, Chilchuk, and Senshi discover a way to lure the Red Dragon in their direction. Once they reach a certain alleyway, the Red Dragon attacks them with its fire breath.

Thankfully, Marcille’s spell and Senshi’s pan gave the three the aid necessary to block it. Laios, Senshi, and Chilchuk lead the Red Dragon toward Marcille. Marcille uses a spell to make the structure she’s resting on collapse on the Red Dragon. Unfortunately, this doesn’t phase the Red Dragon at all, surprising our heroes. Laios, Senshi, and Chilchuk are trapped underneath the dragon’s body.

Marcille tries harming the Red Dragon with a spell but it’s ineffective. Left with no other option, Senshi pulls out a Mithril Kitchen Knife and says it can cut through anything. Laios grabs the knife and uses it on the Red Dragon. This causes the Red Dragon minor pain. Marcille flees the area to conjure a plan. Meanwhile, Senshi takes a leap of faith and heads toward Laios’s sword.

The Red Dragon stomps on Senshi and Chilchuk heads toward Senshi and tells Laios to regroup with Marcille. He wants Laios to help Marcille develop a new Red Dragon-slaying strategy. While Chilchuk assists Senshi, Laios grabs Senshi’s cooking pot. Simultaneously, Senshi passes Laios his sword and Laios flees the battlefield. At the same time, Chilchuk and Senshi get crushed by the structure’s rubble.

Laios regroups with Marcille and informs her about Senshi and Chilchuk’s predicament. Moreover, he informs Marcille about the Red Dragon’s wounds and details a plan to help him reach its inverse scale weak point. Laios jumps toward the Red Dragon from the side and grabs it. The Red Dragon finds a way to bite one of Laios’s legs.

Before the Red Dragon bites Laios’s leg off, Laios stabs its weak point, causing both to plummet toward the ground. In a flashback, a young Laios and Falin visit a graveyard. During this excursion, a ghost jumps on top of Laios, asking him to remove the ring from its finger. Laios tells Falin to flee. When the ghost inserts itself into Laios’s body, Falin hits Laios with a stick and tells the ghost to leave him alone.

Several men arrive and Falin informs them about the ghost that attacked Laios. She points her stick toward that ghost’s grave and tells the men to remove the ghost’s ring. The men recognize the ghost as Olman, who purchased a golden ring from an elf long ago. Later, Laios tells Falin she should appreciate her magical capabilities.

He informs Falin about several ways she can use her powers to help people worldwide. Falin asks Laios if he’d accompany her on this future journey, and Laios says he’d love to. After recalling a future instance with Falin, Laios wakes up and notices Marcille tending to his leg wound. Before she does, Marcille departs to look for Senshi and Chilchuk.

Once she finds them, she immediately heals them with her magic. Then, she finds Laios’s leg and reattaches it to Laios’s wound via magic. Chilchuk hands Laios his sword. Chilchuk tells Laios he’s not thrilled that he kept his monster friend who lives in his sword a secret from him. Laios carves through the Red Dragon’s body with Senshi’s knife.

Laios hopes he’ll find Falin’s body inside the Red Dragon still. Our heroes locate the Red Dragon’s stomach and pull it out. Laios carves the Red Dragon’s stomach and learns there’s nothing inside. Marcille wonders if this is a different Red Dragon but Laios says it’s not because it has the same scar as the Red Dragon he and the others fought in episode one.

Laios and the others check the Red Dragon’s intestines, but nothing is there. Marcille wants to check the Red Dragon’s dung but Chilchuk stops her. Laios is concerned but checks another location. He grabs another Red Dragon organ and carves it. He believes Falin could be hidden within this organ. Our heroes find numerous bones and Falin’s staff. The episode closes with Laios holding a skull.

The Episode Review

Based on this chapter’s final moments, our heroes’ journey is far from over. It’ll be interesting to see what Laios and his comrades will do next regarding Falin’s remains. Many speculate that our heroes will seek out resurrection magic and use that to bring Falin back to life. Only time will tell if that ends up being the case. Nonetheless, we’re optimistic that Laios and his friends will find a way to restore Falin to her former glory.

Falin aside, the Red Dragon battle was captivating from beginning to end. It was a blast seeing everyone work together to defeat it. From Senshi’s leap of faith to Laios stabbing the Red Dragon’s inverse scale, Studio Trigger deserves praise for making this action-packed affair a lively experience.

Visuals aside, the voice acting was equally compelling. Hearing Laios’s battle cry during his brief solo excursion with the Red Dragon kept me on the edge of my seat. The other actors and actresses performed their roles well, too, but Laios’s voice actor(s) deserves a round of applause.

Overall, this was a great chapter of Delicious In Dungeon. It had wonderful tension, thrilling action, and a nice heartfelt sequence between Laios and Falin. I’m excited to see what happens in episode 12.
