Fans of Zombie games will be hungry for this sequel to the original Dead Island that launched over a decade ago.

This time around, you will get the opportunity to explore gore-drenched locations across Los Angeles and San Francisco, meeting larger-than-life characters and slaying countless zombies as you travel the game’s extensive maps. Choose from hundreds of weapons to take down these mutated foes and become a zombie yourself to tear through the undead with ease.

What platform is Dead Island 2 releasing on?

Dead Island 2, which is being developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, and PC on April 1st 2023.

How long is Dead Island 2?

If you only focus on the main objectives, the game will take around 12 hours to complete, according to Howlongtobeat.com. But if you want to see all aspects of the game and obtain 100% completion, your playthrough will likely take around 35 hours.

Is Dead Island 2 single-player or multiplayer?

This zombie slash-em-up can be played in either single-player or multiplayer.

If you choose to play this game with others, you can lay waste to the zombie horde with up to 3 other players. Early reports suggested the game would accommodate 8 players but it appears these plans have been scrapped.

Is there any DLC?

If you pre-order Dead Island 2, you will be able to access the Memories of Banoi Pack, which will include a number of in-game items, such as the Banoi Baseball Bat, a Personal Space Skill Card, and the Balanced Weapons perk.

If you pre-order Dead Island 2: Pulp Edition, you will get the pre-order bonuses and the Pulp Weapons pack, which includes the ‘Homewrecker’ Sledgehammer and the ‘Eye Opener’ Pitchfork for which to do some serious damage to your zombie foes.

Should you buy the game digitally, you can choose the Deluxe Edition of Dead Island 2 which will include the Golden Weapons pack and unique costumes for the playable protagonists.

Expect news of more downloadable game content after Dead Island 2’s launch. The first game had a downloadable expansion pack with new story missions, so it might be that the sequel gets the same somewhere down the line.
