Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 3 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 3

Season 1 of Dark Winds became a surprise hit for AMC. The series was definitely the dark horse on a schedule that included Better Call Saul and The Walking Dead.

Dark Winds resonated deeply with viewers, especially the Native American community, who found the representation to be meaningful, complex, and respectful. Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon are back in the second season, once again playing the protagonist duo from the books of the same name.

This new season promises to be even more exciting as we go deeper into the novel’s universe. It has been confirmed that the plot from the first season will not be continued in this season. We will most possibly see a new arc from one of the books. But even then, some residual subplots will be carried forward as callbacks.

Here is everything you need to know about Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 3, including its release date, time and where you can watch this.

Where can I watch Dark Winds?

Dark Winds will be available to stream globally on AMC+ and the new episodes will also air on AMC as well. As has been the norm, the episodes will drop two days before the cable network on the streaming service. For those who do not have access to AMC in their country, Philo TV, Direct TV Stream, and Sling TV also offer paid services through which you can stream Dark Winds on the same day.

Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 3 Release Date

Dark Winds Season 2 Episode 3 will be released on the streaming service, AMC+, before the cable network. The show will follow a twin release formula of Thursday and Sunday. So episode 2 will release on AMC+ on Thursday, August 10, while the series then release the episode on the cable network on Sunday, August 14, at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC.

The new episode is titled “Antigonish”. Its plot summary reads: “After facing off with a dangerous man, Chee strikes out on his own; Leaphorn and Manuelito partner with the sheriff’s department, leading Leaphorn to identify a vital clue.”

How many episodes will Dark Winds have?

Dark Winds’ season 2 has been commissioned for a total of 6 episodes. This is the same number as the previous season. So, after the third episode, we will have another 3 episodes to go before it concludes.

What happened in Episode 2?

Episode 2 of Dark Winds takes on a dual shape. On one hand, we get the investigation into Colton Wolf’s shocking murder of Emerson Charley, the mystery of the People of Darkness, and BJ Vines’ connection to the Drumco well explosion. While on the other, we take a more serious-minded look at the lives of our main characters and how their fortunes are tied with that of the Dine community. The moon landing in the 70s shadows the events of this episode.

There are some patterns beginning to reveal themselves in the mystery behind Colton Wolf. We are not sure what he is motivated by yet, but it is clear that he has a connection with the wicked church. Tomas, the key to resolving the connection between BJ and the church, was found dead in the Malpais with Bern and Joe. The former seems to have her own arc in this season as we see she is planning on applying for a job at the Border Patrol to take a step further in her career.

Chee was mostly removed from the picture as he recuperates in the hospital. Joe’s father worked together with his son in a fine callback to the father-son dynamic prominent in the first two episodes.

  1. Fantastic!! I read all books and cast and story lines are entertaining, respectful, informative and just one of best series on any format.

  2. Good show, very authentic. Like that they’re so many Native American actors in it. Have enjoyed reading the books, and the series is cherry on the top!

  3. I love the series and have read all of Tony Hillerman’s book. I especially like learning about the customs of the Native Americans and and hearing their language spoken.

  4. I love the Hillerman books and love the series. It’s interesting how different books are combined in the story line. I love the use of the native language and customs and hope they continue for a long time.

  5. A well made show. I love the use of the true language. It’s authenticity give weight to the matters at hand as they address native issues. The FBI has long been treating NA like nobodies for decades and exercising corruption all along.🌿
windstrucklady is my Indian name, but I’m just a Irish lady with big empathy for the Earth’s 🌎 people

  6. Great Show. I am native American . The show brings out the customs , beliefs of the tribe and shows how they were treated by the whites in the past. I don’t believe a lot of people know what happened many years ago and this show echos the treatment they endured.

  7. Really enjoying the show! I am already hoping for a season 3 as I don’t want it to end!
    Thank you!

  8. I was upset knowing last night , Aug.6th, that Dark Winds did not repeat at 11pm like it did last week. I missed the episode and could not believe it was showing again at 1 30 am, and 2 30 am and 3 30 am next few days, who can stay up for that? I don’t have a recording system on my television so I will totally miss that episode. Why can’t you do what you did on July 30? I was expecting it would follow suit!
