Dark Gathering is a new supernatural horror series that has the potential to be a fun and chilling watch. It follows Keitaro, a boy with the power to sense spirits. He’s assigned the task of tutoring a child prodigy named Yayoi. After gathering intel about Yayoi’s supernatural abilities from his close friend Eiko, Keitaro vows to help Yayoi find the spirit that took her mother away in the past. They’ll do so by hunting down as many spirits as possible, resulting in many eerie and lighthearted antics.

Where Can I Watch Dark Gathering?
Dark Gathering Season 1 is airing in Japan on Tokyo MX, AT-X, BS Asahi, and Amazon Prime Video. It is available to stream on HiDive outside of Asian territories.
Dark Gathering Episode 5 Release Date
Dark Gathering Episode 5 will release on Sunday 6th August at approximately 5pm (GMT) / 10am (PT) / 12pm (CT). Of course, it’s really dependent on how quickly the platform uploads new episodes. Expect this to be pretty close to the release time though.
Dark Gathering is not available with the dubbing from the release so you’ll need to watch it in the native Japanese tongue with subtitles. Dubbing will likely arrive later on down the line.

What Happened in Episode 4?
In Dark Gathering Episode 4, Keitaro and his friends visit a college for orientation purposes. Eiko convinces Keitaro to attend the Spooky Stories and Urban Legends class demo sessions. After engaging with this class’s instructor’s tape, Keitaro gets cursed by the tape’s spirit. At the same time, we learn why Eiko values Keitaro as a friend through informative flashbacks.
Yayoi devises a quirky and effective plan to prevent Keitaro from perishing by the spirit’s flame powers. Yayoi arrives home and lets her captured spirits teach the VHS spirit a lesson. Meanwhile, Eiko picks Keitaro up from the doctor and the two engage in an intimate conversation. Eiko returns home and we learn that she’s eerily obsessed with Keitaro. The episode closes with Keitaro questioning if he should accept Yayoi’s offer to fight and capture curses for Eiko and his sake.
