Dandadan – Chapter 162 Recap & Review

Let’s Blow The Demonic Fairy Tale Card Away!

Chapter 162 of Dandadan begins with Okarun, Serpo, Germain, and the police officer confronting the Fairy Tale Card. While Okarun and the others flee, Okarun asks the others where Rin is. Okarun spots Rin. He can’t believe Rin’s wearing a strange outfit. Meanwhile, the officer spots Zuma and rushes toward him. 

The officer is afraid that Zuma will die. Internally, Zuma is dreaming about his family. Zuma wakes up and tells the officer he didn’t plan on dying. The officer suggests they go home. Meanwhile, Germain tells Okarun and Serpo that they must defeat the Fairy Tale Card’s paired cards “all at once” to defeat it. Okarun understands and transforms.

Germain tells Okarun and Serpo to attack specific cards and to wait for his signal. Zuma says he’ll join them. The Fairy Tale Card tries mind-controlling Zuma but Zuma rejects him. The Fairy Tale Card gives up and tries assaulting everyone. The chapter ends with Germain, Zuma, Serpo, and Okarun destroying the Fairy Tale Card’s respective cards.

The Chapter Review

Thankfully, our heroes combined their strengths to destroy the Fairy Tale Card’s cards. Now the question remains. Is this the end of the Fairy Tale Card, or does he have more tricks up his sleeve? Only time will tell. Regardless, this was an interesting battle to see. Although it’d be great if the Fairy Tale Card put more effort into thwarting our heroes’ forces, fans will enjoy seeing everyone rise against him. 

Moreover, Yukinobu Tatsu proves they’re a force to be reckoned with in the art department. That final panel captures the intensity and excitement one would want from a boss’s defeat. Again, we’re unsure if the Fairy Tale Card is truly done for here. Yet, if that is the case, fans will be happy to see this battle come to a satisfying conclusion. 

Additionally, some fans will be curious about Zuma’s words regarding his mother. While it’s admirable for him to share some kind remarks about his mother, some may not share the same sentiment as he does about her. Considering she committed suicide while having custody of Zuma, many may not view Zuma’s mother in a positive light like he does. 

Regardless, it was great to see Zuma take his frustrations out on the Fairy Tale Card, considering the card forced him to hurt those he cared about. All in all, this was a fun chapter of Dandadan.
