The protagonist of the workplace drama Cold Blooded Intern is Hae-ra, who put in a lot of effort working as a merchandiser in the past. She was a fiercely competitive woman who aspired to constantly be the best.

Hae-ra leaves her career to look after her daughter Yi-young after having a kid. She has given her child her whole attention for the last seven years.

Now that she wants to go back to work, Hae-ra is having trouble finding work. She attends an interview one day for an entry-level opportunity at Market Hous. There, she finds Ji-won, the head of the line’s planning team, who, because of her magnetic personality and aptitude for leadership, is actually in charge at Market House.

After working together at a previous company, Ji-won chooses to offer Hae-ra an internship within the product planning department. When Hae-ra takes the job, she presents her with a charming but unkind offer.

The show focuses on issues including office politics, juggling personal and professional lives, and making friends in the workplace. The first few episodes do a great job of setting up the themes and ideas the show plans to explore later on. We see an increasingly realistic workplace setting as the show unfolds, complete with cutthroat rivalry, icy supervisors, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

We also get a glimpse of how women’s full-time careers might influence their personal lives. Up until the penultimate episode of the season, the show has done a great job of presenting an authentic perspective.

However, the season finale is, to put it mildly, disappointing. The show’s portrayal was remarkably accurate. The final episode, though, is not as grounded in realism as the others, owing to its dramatic representation of the working environment.

The show also does an excellent job of blending its serious content with humour and absurdity. In light of this, the show makes for enjoyable viewing and is great for binge-watching when you just want to chill out.

The growth of the characters is fascinating to watch unfold. When we first started watching the show, Hae-ra came off as a cold, opportunistic woman. Over the course of the series, though, she develops into a sympathetic, caring, and friendly woman.

Ji-won, our anti-hero, also undergoes compelling growth throughout the story. Her selfless deed toward the season’s finale was a welcome change of character. As the show progresses, we learn more about her background and come to understand and even empathise with her predicament. Some of the show’s most entertaining moments come from supporting characters like Su-pyo, Gwang-su, So-jin, Seung-ju, and Yi-young.

The show takes place in a realistic setting. The colour scheme is also spot-on for a high-stakes office drama. Additionally, all the characters are spot-on in their portrayals. The casting of Min-ran as the protagonist and Ji-won as the antagonist was brilliant. The two women’s fierce rivalry was well written and performed, raising the bar for the entire show.

Won-hae, another star of the show, was also fantastic. The character’s harsh treatment of his subordinates is what ultimately turns you against him. This skill makes him a fantastic performer. In addition, Jong-hyuk, Min-seo, and Kyungri are great actors who commit fully to their roles, making the drama more enjoyable.

The show, as a whole, is intriguing, humorous, and enjoyable to watch. Furthermore, the show’s character arcs are impressive. The show’s finale episode is disappointing, but the previous ones are well worth your time.
