Citadel: Honey Bunny – Season 1 Episode 6 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Episode 6

Episode 6 of Citadel: Honey Bunny begins with an honest conversation between Honey and Bunny. Bunny asks her why she never told him she was alive. She says he was wrapped around Vishwa’s finger and she couldn’t trust him. Honey describes Nadia to him, her skills and determination. Then it’s time for Honey and Bunny to leave. Bunny says goodbye to his friends and Ludo gives Honey two phones for her and Nadia to stay connected.

The scene shifts to 1999. Vishwa is in the Citadel detention centre speaking to Zooni. He claims that he never betrayed Zooni’s husband, Rinzy. He was supposed to meet Rinzy at a rendezvous point but he never showed up. Since then, Citadel labelled Vishwa a traitor but he continued to work on his and Rinzy’s team.

Who is the Citadel traitor?

Zooni asks about this ‘dream’. Vishwa says he and Rinzy questioned Citadel’s doctrine of being loyal to nothing but Citadel. They planned to create a new organization where they wouldn’t make the same mistakes. She even leads Zooni to a locker where she finds photographs of all the people working to build the Foundation.

In 2000, Honey meets with Shaan at a café. She gives him intel on the Citadel traitor — it is none other than Zooni. She gives him a CD with proof as well. At Citadel, Shaan confronts Zooni and takes her to a holding cell.

What happens to the Armada?

Meanwhile, Vishwa is at an orphanage offering young boys the same speech he gave Bunny all those years ago. Bunny turns up, gun in hand and tells Vishwa he has the Armada with him. He brings it out and shoots it, destroying the device. Vishwa is aghast and tells Bunny that they could have controlled the world together but Bunny says he never wanted that. He leaves Vishwa alive but tells him to stay away from his family.

In a shocking twist, KD ends up at Chako’s family’s house. Chako’s wife catches him snooping on Chako’s computer. Later, KD calls his colleague Nakul and says he has Ludo’s address. Nakul says Vishwa has ordered them to stand down since this chapter is over. But KD insists on completing the job.

Does Nadia meet her father?

Back in South India, Nadia takes a gun from the wall and is messing around with it when Bunny and Honey enter the room. Honey introduces them and Nadia reluctantly gives him a high five. Nadia makes them all watch a movie that features both, Honey and Bunny. She then asks Honey if ‘play mode’ is over.

In Mumbai, Ludo fries all the computers and escapes his hideout before KD and his men arrive. But KD’s men are able to find the location of Honey’s satellite phone. Ludo is alerted to this and immediately contacts Bunny. He and Honey prepare for an attack.

Honey’s brother takes Nadia to hide in an outhouse. Soon, KD’s cars burst into the palace complex. The shootout begins and Honey and Bunny work as a team. At one point, Nakul shoots Honey but she fatally stabs him in return. Bunny says they need to leave with Nadia.

Does KD die?

They grab Nadia from her hiding spot and drive off but a car follows them and forces them to stop and fight again. As they see more cars coming, Bunny decides to stay behind and give Honey and Nadia a chance to escape. KD arrives, eager to get revenge for Nakul’s death and fights Bunny. In the end, they end up shooting each other.

Both of them are heavily injured and Bunny tells KD that Vishwa’s hospitality was entirely fake. He mentions the fake house, fake wife and even the burnt chicken that he used to test his sons’ loyalty. This seems to change KD’s mind and he lets Bunny go before the next set of men arrive.

How does Citadel: Honey Bunny end?

The episode ends with Bunny walking away from KD and then stopping in his tracks. Meanwhile, Honey and Nadia wait for him to arrive. KD passes out but we aren’t sure if he’s dead or not. The series ends on a cliffhanger so we also can’t be sure if Bunny will run to his family or if he will try and stop the coming army of men to give Honey and Nadia a fighting chance. Is this a sign that there will be a season 2 for Citadel: Honey Bunny? Maybe!

The Episode Review

I was hoping Episode 6 would wrap up Honey and Bunny’s story, effectively tying the threads that connect it to the original Citadel. That seems to have been too much to hope for. This finale leaves things on an open ending and we are left to wonder how Bunny and Honey get out of the hot mess they’ve landed in.

The first half of this episode was a solid conclusion to the Vishwa storyline though. The final confrontation between Vishwa and Bunny brings things around quite well, with Bunny finally confronting Vishwa for raising him to become someone else and Vishwa describing the dreams he had for the both of them.

Unfortunately, it’s a bit disappointing that the Big Bad Villain stops here and our main couple spends the rest of the episode fighting his right-hand man. It’s also clear that the creators wanted the final shootout to occur in the palace and the entire story was written to match that. But the action itself is a good watch.

It’s smoothly choreographed, with sweeping camera movements that allow you to feel the momentum of the action and fully enjoy it. The sequence does go on a tad too long though.

In the end, this is not the kind of story you can think very hard about. After all, if Vishwa told them to leave Bunny alone why are all his men gunning for the couple? Why can’t KD simply tell his men to back off if he’s changed his mind? Despite that, it’s a decent episode that brings the family together again.
