Cinderella at 2am – K-drama Episode 10 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Episode 10

Episode 10 of Cinderella at 2 AM begins with Yoon-seo and Ju-won at the campsite. However, Ju-won has to hurry back to the office because news breaks about his father’s affair. His father had been living abroad with a woman and recently filed for divorce, stating that his relationship with his wife was only for show. As a result, the chairwoman calls Yoon-seo and approves of her marriage with Ju-won but asks her to disclose her background to help with the company’s image. She also asks her to oversee the scholarship fund, saying, “Be a true Cinderella.”

Yoon-seo shares this news with I-rae, and while she doesn’t mind much, she’s worried about Ji-suk. Ji-suk overhears their conversation and meets with Ju-won at the company, disclosing how his mother had disrespected Yoon-seo. Yoon-seo follows him and makes him go home. When she returns, Ju-won and Yoon-seo meet with Si-won and Mi-jin. They discuss the issue, and Si-won apologizes for his mother’s behavior. Ju-won is furious, but Yoon-seo explains that his mother was on edge.

The brothers acknowledge that their mother is going through a tough time and has always been lonely, so they decide to meet her. They forcefully take her on a trip, only to comically realize that none of them know much about each other. Their car breaks down, and after some funny moments of frustration from the chairwoman, they have a good time together. Ju-won also tells his mother that Yoon-seo suggested the trip.

The chairwoman confesses that Yoon-seo didn’t want him to know about her history being revealed because it would hurt him. She acknowledges Yoon-seo and asks them to marry as soon as possible, assuring them that her family history will remain hidden.

Two months later, the couple’s wedding preparations are in full swing. Yoon-seo has joined the scholarship foundation, wanting to learn the ropes as a beginner. Ju-won ends up handling most of the wedding preparations himself since Yoon-seo is too busy to attend. They have an argument over this at I-rae’s restaurant.

Meanwhile, it’s Si-won and Mi-jin’s wedding anniversary. They have dinner together, but Mi-jin realizes that Si-won doesn’t remember their anniversary, and his assistant had delivered the necklace and made the dinner reservation. She gets upset and leaves.

While Yoon-seo is out, she accidentally calls Mi-jin, and they decide to meet up for drinks. They bond over their frustrating partners and, while drunk, decide to confront their mother-in-law about her behavior towards Yoon-seo. Si-won gets wind of their plan when he calls Mi-jin, and the two brothers rush to their mother’s house to stop them. They succeed.

The next day, Yoon-seo wakes up to Ju-won’s apology via text. She asks him to bring her hangover medicine, and they reconcile over breakfast she’s prepared.

Later, they go out together, and we see Seong-min’s invitation, which he made for them, is finally out. Si-won and Mi-jin also reconcile and confess their love to each other. Ji-suk has been working at I-rae’s restaurant, and Seong-min is painting again. The episode ends with the couple finally getting married after overcoming all odds.

The Episode Review

The finale was much better than most of the series. One of the more memorable scenes was Ju-won and Si-won’s trip with their mother. Yoon-seo and Mi-jin bonding was also refreshing. Instead of obsessively focusing on just Ju-won and Yoon-seo for most of the series, it would have been much better and more engaging if the show had explored other relationships as well.

Overall, the finale was a saving grace to an otherwise disappointing show. It’s not perfect and is quite subpar compared to other K-dramas of a similar nature, but at this point, after at least seven episodes of monotony (if not more), we’ll take it.
