“School Choir Crush”

Episode 3 of Chastity High starts with the student council members trying out new ways to find culpable couples. Ichico plants a spy camera in Yuki’s cabin and learns her password to the Student Portal. She goes into the counsellor’s cabin when Yuki is on holiday and takes photos of the new couple’s submissions that are sent on the portal.

Ichico deletes the submissions from the portal and texts the couples, asking them to pay money if they do not want their relationships exposed. She uses the pseudonym – Love Keeper and asks the students to leave cash in a locker at the train station. Once the students have left, Ichiko takes the money and uses it for her school fees as well as to repay the loan sharks.

One of the couple submissions features Ryuogo and Ichico texting him, asking him to pay up to keep his romance a secret. Even after several days, Ryuogo does not respond to Ichico’s threat and she does not delete the submission from the Student Portal. At the school choir club, Toda and Irisawa start developing feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Yuzuki tells Sawa that she is no longer comfortable being her friend.

At the same time, Yuki takes a bunch of relationship submissions to Ikushima. Ikushima keeps Mr Maki’s donation to the school in mind and excuses Ryuogo’s relationship. She asks Yuki to suspend all other students which the student counsellor finds unfair. Kondo and Irisawa’s romance blossoms when the two sing a duet together.

Ikushima instigates Sawa and asks her to take much stricter actions to catch the students who are engaging in romance. After the student council meeting, Yuzuki tries to make small talk with Atsushi and asks if he has feelings for Ichico but the latter denies and asks Yuzuki to mind her own business. That night after school, Ayami and Haruto have sex in his car.

The next day, Ichico sees more submissions about Ryougo and is shocked to learn that he was being excused by the no romance rule because of his privilege. She sends another warning to him as Love Keeper to see if she can extort money from him. That evening, Yuki and Haruto go out on a date and he seems disinterested in her.

Meanwhile, Irisawa and Toda are about to kiss in the choir room when someone snaps a picture of them. Toda is scared that she will be suspended now. Ryougo talks to Haruto that night and asks if he is pulling strings to make sure he is not suspended from school. He states that he was hooking up with so many girls because he wanted to be kicked out of the school.

Haruto states that he did not want their father to be troubled because of some trivial school matter and asks Ryougo to stop trying to get expelled. The next day. Ryougo texts Love Keeper and agrees to pay them to keep his relationship a secret. Ichico collects the bag from the locker and goes home.

However, Ryuogo shows up outside her door and calls her out for trying to extort money from students. Ryougo states that he had placed a GPS tracker in the bag.  The money lenders show up to collect their due and Ryougo apologises to her for acting out. He asks Ichico to share the extorted money with him in exchange for his help.

Ichico agrees and allows Ryuogo to join her as she collects the money from the locker after Irisawa and Toda leave it there. The two split the money in half and start their journey as business partners as the episode comes to an end.

The Episode Review

The relationship that Ichico and Ryougo share with one another seems that of friendship as opposed to romance and it will be fun to see the two falling in love as they save their classmates from being exposed. But Ichico needs to be careful as Ryougo seems like a playboy who has many flings. Ichiko may get her heart broken during her relationship with Ryougo and Atsushi comes in to save the day.

Seeing how Mrs Kanda and Chihiro reacted to each other, there seems to be a back story involving the two. I wonder if Atsushi has been connected to Ichico in the past. On the other hand, Mr Maki and Haruto are characters I despise. I cannot wait to see them being ruined by the end of this show, hopefully at the hands of Mrs Maki, Ayami and Yuki!
