Chainsaw Man Chapter 147

Chainsaw Man Part 2, the Academy Saga, follows a new protagonist, Asa Mitaka. To survive, she makes a deal with Yoru the War Devil, in which she needs to kill Chainsaw Man.

The current arc has been dealing with the Chainsaw Man Church, a group of mostly teenagers who are fans of Chainsaw Man and hunt devils in his name. Asa is not only a member, but also the poster girl for them. She is stronger than ever, sometimes attracting more attention than even Chainsaw Man himself.

While she fights many devils and saves civilians, Denji is doing his best to live a normal life. The public safety devil hunters want him to stay quiet, but the Church wants him to act. So he finds himself again in a situation where people are trying to control his life.

What Happened In Chapter 146?

While Hirofumi Yoshida attacks Asa, cutting one of her arms, Denji learns about Chainsaw Man Church’s real objective. Barem explains that, actually, the members are in a contract with the Fire Devil, an enormously powerful entity.

When a building starts to catch fire, some onlookers suddenly start growing chainsaws out of their heads and limbs. And we see the same thing happening to people all over the country and to the members of the church. That happens because the Fire Devil lets contractors take any form they desire.

Barem concludes by saying the plan is essential for them to defeat the Great King of Terror, who will descend in half a year. Denji thinks it’s a lie, but Nayuta confirms it as the King is her eldest sister, the Death Devil. Then she realizes what is Barem and Fami’s plan. They want to make everyone terrified of Chainsaw Man and war, so they can get strong enough to kill Death. Honestly, one of the greatest moments of Part 2, if not the best.
