Episode 8 of Celebrity starts with Seo A-Ri on day five of her live stream. She narrates how the online world can be exhausting with all the unnecessary fuss that comes with it.

Through a flashback, we see her doing shows to promote her products and collaboration with Hue cosmetics. Things are going well and she can even afford to rent a new house for her family. Her company is slowly rising the ranks in the fashion world and she is involved heavily in every decision. She has become the darling of many luxurious brands and she is at the top of her game.

As expected, most people are happy about her success but Tae-Jeon thinks that Seo A-Ri is stepping out of her lane. Chase-Hee agrees and is pissed that Seo A-Ri is getting more sponsorships and gets to pick things first before anyone else.

Since things are going well; Seung-Hyeok suggests that Seo A-Ri change her feed and how she is handling demand. Seo A-Ri insists on keeping everything the same and is not interested in making easy money by promoting products she doesn’t believe in. Jeong-Sun tries to side with Seung-Hyeok but Seo A-Ri explains that she wants to focus on her company. One of Seo A-Ri’s comments hurts Jeong-Sun and we start to see that Jeong-Sun might be jealous of her best friend.

Later that night, Seo A-Ri attends another charity event hosted by Si-Hyeon at the Aragon Club. On the way to the event, Seo A-Ri nearly hits a young lady who seems distracted as she crosses the road. Luckily, no one is hurt and Seo A-Ri proceeds to the event as planned.

The media loves her and quickly turns their attention to her, ignoring the other influencers. This annoys Min-Hye who was in the middle of an interview. The party goes smoothly until Seo A-Ri overhears Chae-Hee complaining about how they were not treated as VIPs. Seo A-Ri goes up and confronts them, asking why they are so bothered when they used to remind her that she was not at their level. She wonders why they can’t handle it now that the tables have turned.

Once again, Chae-Hee loses her cool and tries to attack Seo A-Ri but ends up falling and embarrassing herself. Unfortunately, Seo A-Ri’s dress is ruined and Choi Bom, who is also in attendance, tries to help her. Jeong-Sun is worried because the dress is sponsored but Seo A-Ri says it is fine, she can just buy it. This is when it hits her that maybe she is changing.

In the meantime, Jun-Kyung attends the party and runs into Si-Hyeon. He wants to know why she left him because he doesn’t want to repeat the same mistake. As they talk, they overhear a young lady crying and rush to see what is happening. They find Yong-Tae and his men trying to drag the lady out. Seo A-Ri and Tae-Jeon are also there since Seo A-Ri was on her way out.

It turns out the young lady is the sister of the man who died. She doesn’t believe her brother committed suicide and wants to know what happened. Yong-Tae drags her out on Tae-Jeon’s order and Si-Hyeon learns the truth. She is appalled that Tae-Jeon lied and tried to cover up someone’s death.

Meanwhile, Jun-Kyung takes Seo A-Ri home and she is scared to ask him for the truth. Jun-Kyung insists that she can ask but she tells him to pull over. Jun-Kyung refuses and confesses that he needs her. In other words, he is confessing his feelings for her and hopes that one day she will feel the same. He reaches out for her hands and she doesn’t pull away. She might not admit it but she’s opening up to Jun-Kyung. In hindsight, Seo A-Ri says that being in Jun-Kyung’s car that night was the last moment of peace she had.

That same night, Min-Hye continues to investigate what happened in Aragon after eavesdropping on the young girl kicked out at the party.

A few nights later, Seo A-Ri gets a dm from Bbbfamous making accusations of ignoring her. Seo A-Ri explains that she tried to reach out many times but Bbbfamous never responded. Bbbfamous refuses her apology and tries to order Seo A-Ri by demanding that she always respond right away to her messages. Seo A-Ri finds the request ridiculous and refuses. She tells Bbbfamous that it is time to find out her identity and why she keeps doing things for her.

On the other side of town, Si-Hyeon meets with Jun-Kyung who confirms that Tae-Jeon lied and the man passed away. Jun-Kyung offers to take care of it but Si-Hyeon thinks that would be impossible. Jun-Kyung becomes frustrated by Si-Hyeon insisting she can handle everything. Through a flashback, we learn what happened between them in the past.

Si-Hyeon and Jun-Kyung were secretly dating and in love. However, Si-Hyeon’s parents wanted her to marry someone else who could help her father’s political campaign. One night, Jun-Kyung overheard Si-Hyeon begging her parents to stop and he pretended to be fine with the situation. He tells her that he is not bothered and believes she has the right to choose.

Si-Hyeon assumes this means that he didn’t love or cared for her. Jun-Kyung apologizes and explains that he failed to communicate with her. He, however still asks her to let him deal with Tae-Jeon.

Back to Seo A-Ri, she gets an offer to collaborate with a popular Chinese influencer, Zhang Wei. Gyeong-Bae convinces her that they can manage the demand and they should go ahead with the collaboration.

As this goes on, Bbbfamous reaches out to Chae-Hee and tries to form an alliance with her to take down Seo A-Ri. She promises to tell Chae-Hee how Seo A-Ri managed to get to the top.

At the same time, a post on social media claims that someone died at Min-Chan’s clinic after a wild night out with Chae-Hee’s entourage. Min-Chan starts to get scared when Yu-Rang brings this to his attention.

As expected, Tae-Jeon also hears about the post and tries to do damage control. He begins by getting all the posts taken down. Jun-Kyung also saw the post and is worried about Seo A-Ri, because she’s actually in this photo. He tries to call her but is unable to connect.

As it so happens, Seo A-Ri is a bit busy handling an impromptu late-night visit from a strange woman.

The Episode Review

It is about time the truth starts coming out. The show is making us eager to know what happened and Seo A-Ri is narrating this story so well in her live stream. She knows when to give us some carrots and just the right time to drop a truth bomb. One never knows what she will be revealing next and how that played a part in her alleged death.

Aren’t you curious about the strange lady? Is she Bbbfamous, why did she visit Seo A-Ri, and why now? Who posted that exposé about Min-Chan’s clinic? However, the biggest question we have is who is Bbbfamous, and how her alliance with Chae-Hee will bring about Seo A-Ri’s downfall.
