One Bad Day

New York band Career Day push pop-punk into the realm of possibilities, and their sound is intelligently woven. The act dazzles too, with lyrical content that is profound as they tell us stories about a world in transition and at breaking point. From the start to the conclusion of this 4 track EP, there are moments when the music hits the grain and stirs the senses.

The band know that they are doing things right with their music which has the power to change perceptions. They play with a free spirit, creating a sound of pop-punk that has undertones with levels and layers that show versatility.

This diverse output shows the band has worked meticulously on their craft, and these 4 songs deliver pulsating energy. ‘Team Player’ begins with a shuddering riff that highlights a creative spark. The vocals are wrapped in intensity and anger as the themes are close to the bone. The band just want change.

‘Rumours Of My Wellness’ is a pessimistic track that digs deeply. The stirring guitar riff is pleasing, and the musical flair is clinical. It has more to it than a standard pop-punk song, and that shows Career Day are not a flash in the pan.

‘Last Thread’ opens with commanding percussion and the technical guitar segment showcases the band’s creative energy. The story keeps on delivering a narrative twist on despair.

Career Day is a band on the warpath, and you know what, it is about time people sit up and take notice of a failing planet and the darkness that protrudes. This band is the real deal, and their message is clear.
