Captivating The King Episodes 1-2
Captivating The King is the newest melodrama set in the Joseon era. The Grand Prince, Lee In is a loyal subject but when he is taken hostage by Qing, his brother, King Lee Sun sees it as a betrayal. Hurt by his brother’s ruthlessness, the only sliver of happiness that Lee In gets is when he is busy playing baduk and hanging out with a strange player, Kang Mong-woo.
When fate makes Lee In the next King, he turns ruthless by locking away his fragile and tender side. But no political romance is complete without some betrayal, secrets and pain to make it exciting. Kang Hee-soo is a noblewoman who has been wronged and disguises herself as a man to spy and get her revenge. Her secret alter ego? Kang Mong-woo, the baduk player.
It stars Jo Jung-suk of Hospital Playlist fame as the tender-hearted prince turned cold king, Lee Yin. Alongside him is Shin Se-kyung as Kang Hee-soo. There are other familiar faces as well in this ensemble such as Lee Shin-young, Choi Dae-hoon, Yang Kyung-won, Lee Kyu-hoe, Jang Young-nam and Park Ye-young.
