What’s next for the biggest K-pop group in the world?
BTS has now become a household name and you’d be hard-pressed to find a large group of people who don’t recognise the K-pop giants. The seven-member boy group hosted their last concert in Busan on October 15th 2022. The show was one of BTS’ biggest concerts ever as it was advertised to be BTS’ contribution to South Korea’s bid for the 2030 World Expo to be held in Busan.
The main show saw up to 50,000 fans watching live,in South Korea while a simultaneous live-play and live stream of the show drew in millions of viewers from across the world. The same concert has now returned in the form of a movie that has been released in multiple theatres from February 1st, for a limited time.
The show opens with fans roaring chants as a small VCR clip plays with their latest release ‘Yet To Come’ playing in the background. The show then opens with BTS pop songs that could not help but force ARMYs in the audience to shake a leg with their idols who were dancing from the other side of the screen.
Following the first few bops, the Vocal line – Jin, Jimin, V (Taehyung) and Jung Kook performs some of their very loved RnB songs. The tempo soon shifts with the rap line – RM (Namjoon), Suga (Yoongi) and J-Hope (Hoseok) spitting fire on BTS’ Hip Hop songs.
After emotional speeches from each of the members, the concert eventually comes to an emotional end with BTS’ fan favourites like ‘Spring Day’ and ‘Epilogue: Young Forever’ as well as their new hits ‘For Youth’ and ‘Yet To Come’.
The ‘BTS: Yet To Come in Cinemas’ show sees the group perform a total of 19 of their best songs over the years starting with ‘MIC Drop’, the extremely popular ‘Run BTS’, ‘Run’ and ‘Save Me’. The vocal line performed songs like ’00:00 (Zero O’Clock)’ and ‘Butterfly’ while the rap line performed ‘Ugh!’ and ‘BTS Cypher Pt. 3 KILLER’.
This concert is admittedly a little different than BTS’ others. We now know why BTS members were really emotional with their ments (speeches). As a viewer, one could see how the members already knew ‘Yet To Come in Busan’ was going to be their last concert as seven. The concert had a special focus on Jimin since it was his birthday a few days before the show.
Moreover, Jimin and Jung Kook’s happiness in performing in their hometown, Busan, really shows through. Jung Kook even tried to speak in Busan satoori (accent) which fans seem to have enjoyed a lot. The rap line stole the show with their performances and their mock fight in ‘Ugh’ and ‘BTS: Cypher Pt. 3’.
Jin’s ments had fans getting emotional now that everyone is missing him so much given his enlistment, while V had fans swooning over his duality. The set pieces like the broken carousel from ‘Spring Day’ or the bus from ‘No More Dream’ all took fans back to the memories of the good old days of BTS. However, the ‘Run BTS’ performance was a much-needed downtime from overwhelming emotions.
BTS is really one of those groups that could sell anything, so what really is left for the boy group? At the end of the concert movie, fans will see clips from the show while the members have a conversation about Jin ageing in reverse. The boys compliment him for looking his best at the age of 30 while RM mentions that the boys were all pretty young and could have haircuts that would make them look even younger.
We also hear Suga saying that BTS will keep hosting concerts for their fans until they are 70 and I think this is definitely the hope for many of their new fans who are not ready to accept the end of BTS! Just like there is no next BTS, this concert and the number of fans attending it, months after the show’s original release is proof of how much the ARMY loves BTS.
Aside from the much-awaited ‘Run BTS’ performance, BTS members calling their dance crew to perform a freestyle on stage was really one of the fun moments that stands out. Furthermore, fans will be in tears as Jimin tears up while V cheered him up. All the while Suga watches the two members interact, are some of the blissful moments of BTS that fans really miss.
‘BTS: Yet To Come in Cinemas’ is a perfect way for fans of BTS to meet other ARMYs and feel the love for the boy group together. The show is available to stream online and hopefully the boys will finish their military responsibilities and come back together as a group very soon for more concerts like this.
As fans wait for BTS’ new chapter, there is one line from ‘Yet To Come’ that resonates with the feeling every ARMY is feeling after watching the concert, “Promise that we’ll keep on coming back for more.”

My husband and I saw it yesterday and had an amazing time! The fans brought the energy and enthusiasm, I ended up feeling like I was at a real BTS concert. Singing, light sticks waving, screaming especially for certain members like Yoongi. The crowd went nuts when they sang Ugh and Cypher. Then many kind fans giving out freebies of stickers, Korean candy and photo cards. We need more of these movies in theaters while we wait for the guys to finish their military duties. Maybe Lollapalooza with J-Hope could be next?
Though I wasn’t physically there, but my heart and soul was! I watched it online and YouTube more than once and I look forward to seeing it in the Cinema! 👍🏼🤗
