Black Myth: Wukong is the latest action RPG to take the world by storm, complete with some excellent boss fights and some tight gameplay. These bosses can be challenging and really test your skills to the max. Fret not though, our boss guides can help you get through even the toughest challenges that Wukong throws at you.
Where is the Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang fight?
Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang is an optional boss, just past the Snake Trail Shrine. Following the path around, jump down into the pool and follow the water until it opens to a large arena. This is also located in the Bamboo Grove area.
You can Fast Travel there from the Shrine by picking “Snake Trail”. Once you’ve arrived, approach the foe, and lets jump right into it.

This Yaoguai Toad, Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang, certainly makes a splash and it hits quickly, so don’t even bother with your Heavy Attacks. Instead your best friends here are Immobilze and the Light Combo. Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang has some quick attacks, and one of his favourites involves smacking his back-legs at you if you’re behind him. He’ll do this twice. Make sure you stay at his left or right side for the duration of the fight if you can. Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang has a series of slashes with both arms that propel him forward, each ending with a leaping splash attack. He’ll then do a little sidestep and reposition. After the splash is another great opportunity to strike. Get familiar with these swipes because he’ll use a series of three-hit combos as well. Furthermore, there’s a fast-moving belly-attack too, where Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang will back up, put his arms to his chest and then lunge at you. The best way to avoid this is to use a combination of sprinting and dodging to the side.
The final attack is actually quite an easy one to fight through. When Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang sticks his tongue out and flicks it back and forth, it has a big reach but only at the front of his body. As a result, he’s prone to combos from the side and back when he enacts this attack, and as he can’t cancel it, you should be able to get a few good strikes in. Be sure to watch out for his little minions too and bide your time to strike. Eventually, he’ll go down. |
Final Tips
Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang has some tough strikes, and it likes to disorientate by kicking with his backlegs and moving around a lot, which can be a bit of a pain to deal with. However, it does have obvious weaknesses you can exploit, especially using the above tips. When you defeat Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang, you’ll gain Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang Spirit, 1x Tadpole, 482x Exp, 2x Yarn and 394x Will. And just like that, the fight will be done!
