Adapted from the Stephen King story of the same name, this chilling terror tale from Host director Rob Savage is centred around a teenage girl and her younger sister who find themselves plagued by the titular monster in the weeks following the tragic death of their mother.

We weren’t too kind about this movie in our review but some Stephen King fans have rated this adaptation quite highly, despite the changes made to the original story.

In this creepy horror film, married couple Jamie (Douglas Booth) and Maya (Hannah John-Kamen) move to an inherited house in rural Ireland hoping for some peace and quiet. The Pope’s Exorcist (2023)

Where To Stream: Netflix (US), Now TV (UK)

Release Date: US (available now), UK (October 22)

Inspired by the files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican, this supernatural horror film stars Russell Crowe as the papal-appointed demon hunter who uncovers a secret the Vatican has tried to keep secret after he investigates the possession of a child.

This might be a rehash of other exorcism films but it’s still an entertaining watch thanks to Crowe’s performance and the terrifying special effects.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023)

Where To Stream: Paramount+

Release Date: Available now

Sometimes dead is better…but it would appear nobody has heeded those famous words from Stephen King’s novel because we now have another movie that is loosely based on his dark and disturbing work.

This one is a prequel focussing on a young Jud Crandall (Jackson White) who bands together with his friends to fight an ancient evil that has gripped his hometown of Ludlow, Maine.

Cobweb (2023)

Where To Stream: Hulu (US)

Release Date: US (October 20)

When a boy (Woody Norman) investigates the knocking sounds that are coming from inside the walls of his house, he starts to believe his sinister parents are hiding a terrible and dangerous secret. What could they be hiding? You’ll have fun finding out when watching this creepy crowd-pleaser.

Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023)

Where To Stream: Peacock (US)

Release Date: US (October 27)

When Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) starts his new job as a night guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a once-successful but now abandoned family entertainment centre, he is forced into a battle for survival when its four animatronic mascots – Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy – spring murderously to life!

There are no reviews for this movie as of yet but if it’s half as scary as the video games it is based on, this should be a terrifying thrill ride.
