As a Sand Village shinobi, Kankuro uses puppetry as his main fighting style. This allows him to stand out from a few other folks mentioned on this list. 

Moreover, Kankuro has multiple puppets at his beck and call. From Karasu to Sasori’s former puppet Hiruko, Kankuro’s arsenal is visually stunning and tactically advantageous. His meticulous control over his puppets also enables him to anticipate and counter his opponents effectively.

Her puppeteer abilities are extraordinary. She’s known for creating countless vampire dolls, each imbued with interesting powers. She can control these dolls remotely, allowing her to manipulate situations from a distance.

This proves useful to Evangeline in combat, as it helps her to maintain an intimidating presence on the battlefield. Additionally, Evangeline’s backstory and journey add intrigue to her role in the narrative. As an immortal vampire, she possesses a rich history that is gradually unveiled throughout the series.

Evangeline’s initial thirst for power and desire to break free from her vampire heritage contribute to her puppetry prowess. Despite coming off as an aloof person, her interactions with the protagonist, Negi, reveal a softer side to her character that fans will find enthralling.

Kokichi Muta (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Kokichi Muta is a newcomer on the block with wonderful puppetry prowess. Many current anime fans will know of his capabilities thanks to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Kokichi specializes in using his cursed corpse, Mechamaru, and his Puppet Manipulation techniques to fight his battles for him. Ultimate Mechamaru is one of his iconic puppets while Ultimate Mechamaru – Mode: Absolute is his best. 

While he uses the former as a proxy to attend classes and interact with his allies, Absolute is his trump card. He uses the latter against Mahito and performs fairly well in the fight. Although his puppets didn’t fare well against Mahito in the duel, Kokichi is a notable puppeteer in the anime world. 

Doflamingo (One Piece)

Doflamingo is a notable villain in the One Piece world. He’s cunning, intelligent, and extremely powerful. His puppeteer abilities are displayed through his control over others, both figuratively and literally, making him engaging and complex. With his Devil Fruit power, Doflamingo can create puppet strings and use them to manipulate people at will. 

This power enables him to bend others to his whim, using them as instruments to complete his goals. His mastery of this power is shown through his control over powerful figures in the One Piece world.

With his commanding presence and manipulative nature, Doflamingo deserves to be recognized here. 

Shalnark (Hunter x Hunter)

Shalnark’s time in the Hunter x Hunter spotlight may have passed but fans shouldn’t overlook his formidable puppeteer abilities. His Nen ability, Autopilot, allows him to control other people as if they were puppets. Shalnark’s puppeteer skills make him a fascinating character, and he receives enough depth in the story to entice fans to foster a decent connection with his character. 

By using a remote and attaching a needle to his target’s bodies, he can manipulate their movements and their actions. This gives him immense control over any situation, allowing him to transform enemies into allies.

On top of being able to read people’s weaknesses, desires, and tendencies, Shalnark is a fabulous member of the Phantom Troupe and a great puppeteer in Hunter x Hunter. 

Nemu Takara (Blue Exorcist)

Nemu Takara is an intriguing puppet master in Blue Exorcist. Despite being shrouded in mystery, he displays excellent puppetry skills that earned him much praise from the show’s finest characters like Mephisto. In Blue Exorcist, Takara is a third-party moderator for the True Cross Academy cram school. He can summon, use, and alter any doll he prefers for combat purposes. 

From fashion dolls to robotic toys, Takara is highly versatile and proves himself as an ally people can depend on for support. Despite being younger than most exorcists and being a boy of secrecy, Mephisto claims Takara has vast potential. 

Drossel Keinz (Black Butler)

Drossel Keinz is a unique puppeteer character with an elegant demeanor and mysterious background. Drossel has the power to turn people into dolls and evokes a strange aura whenever he’s around folks. He transforms folks into dolls as his way of appealing to his master and likes describing people’s appearances based on the material he uses to turn them into dolls. 

He likes following this up with different verses of “London Bridges.” Fans learn that he administers these strange habits to maintain control over the folks he turns into puppets. This makes him a weird yet dangerous person to be around. 

Mother Spider Demon (Demon Slayer)

Demon Slayer became a popular series in the past decade due to its stellar visuals and likable cast. During the anime’s run, our heroes came across a formidable foe in the form of Mother Spider Demon. Despite her saddening past, Mother Spider Demon was a frightening enemy in the story and a skilled puppet master too. 

With her Blood Demon Art technique, she creates long threads with her fingers. She uses these threads to capture and control her foes like puppets. Mother Spider Demon enjoyed contorting her victims’ bodies and bending human and demon corpses to her will. Fortunately, Tanjiro put an end to her swiftly and peacefully.
