Beacon 23 Season 1 Episodes 7 & 8 Preview: Release Date, Time & Where To Watch

Beacon 23 Season 1 Episodes 7 & 8

Beacon 23 should be of great interest to those who liked Apple TV’s Silo. This new series is adapted from the novel by author Hugh Howey. Beacon 23 is a sci-fi show that is set in the 23rd century, unfolding on a remote space “lighthouse.” The central idea of the plot revolves around characters who are stuck “on the edge of the universe” in Beacon number 23.

Lena Headey, Stephan James, Marnie McPhail, and Sydney Ozerov-Meyer are the star names heading the ensemble. The official synopsis of the show reads:

“Aster Calyx and Halan Kai Nelson are inextricably drawn to Beacon 23. Navigating one threat after another, they unravel the beacon’s mysteries, just in time to face their most powerful enemy.

What happened in Episode 6?

Episode 6 of Beacon 23 has not one but three flashbacks. Just like in the fourth episode, we go back in time on the beacon to another new character, Keir. He works for an organization called the Column, which is also after the relics. The Column will feature heavily in the upcoming doubleheader finale for Season 1 next week.

Keir is seen installing explosives to Bart’s quantum system. But the AI has many tricks up its sleeve and offers to tell Keir a story related to the relics.

When Dr Ree Avalon, the first keeper of B23, saw the shining phenomenon in the cosmos, it was called the Artefact. However, Bart’s systems weren’t able to detect it. Ree was completely obsessed and consumed by it. Her maddening obsession led Ree to approach the shining mass and vanish into thin air. Bart then tells the story of Grisha and Farut, a couple sent experimentally to the beacon to check if two keepers can ensure that the job doesn’t become lonely.

Although they were both infertile, the couple had a kid, whom they named Parsim. This is mainly because of the Artefact, which seems to have a negative impact on both Farut and Parsim. This forces Grisham to destroy the Artefact using drones. It breaks up into many smaller pieces called the relics. Fearing that the ISA will apprehend Parsim since having a child on the beacon isn’t allowed, they decide to send her to Menelaus under a different identity – Aster Calyx.

Bart gifts her the pendant that Aster is wearing in the present day. Keir is intrigued by the story but is arrested by the ISA, whom Bart alerted while telling it.

  1. Was enjoying it but then it just got weird and didn’t make sense anymore. The last two episodes….terrible. Poor writing and plot was nonsense.
