Bandidos – Season 2 Episode 6 “The Diamond” Recap & Review

Episode 6

Episode 6 of Bandidos Season 2 begins with Miguel, Lili, Lucas and Leo finding Ramirez. She has a Mayan fresco of Zazil holding the diamond. The fresco mentions 3 tests one needs to pass to get the Tear of Fire. The group figures out the location is a mountain in the Valley of the Gods. 

As for Octavio, Ines and Citlali’s team, they are one step ahead as they have planted a mic on Miguel. Lucas notices and destroys it too late. Ines’ squad has also joined hands with Ariel for the funding. However, Ines has no interest in giving him the diamond. On the way, Octavio is romantic with Ines and Citlali teases him. They destroy Miguel’s van and speed off. They also update Regina who forgives Mano for not killing Alex as he is needed to control Ines.

Back to the race to the mountain, Pepa backs up Lili by shooting Ines’ car tires allowing Lili’s group to reach the mountain first. With Lucas’ AI, they learn that the frog hieroglyphic in the ground is the direction to go. 

Ines’ group reaches the spot too late but Citlali notices that Lucas has marked the frog for her. They find horses and gallop past Lili’s group. However, the second test is to run the rocky terrain of sundials. They abandon the horses and start running.

Miguel, Leo and Lucas follow them while Lili cheats and races past all on one of the horses. She shoots Octavio and Citlali with a tranquilizer gun but Ines stops her with a real gun. Lili tries to negotiate a partnership but Ines plays dirty and runs off.

Lili is exhausted and hallucinates her step-father and Zazil. She faints and is woken up by her team. As for Octavio and Citlali, they wake up and take a horse. They find Ines at the next sundial. They have shifted the sundial and are gone by the time Lili’s group arrives. But Citlali returns the favour by leaving a clue for Lucas.

It is night and the two teams camp in a church separately. Lucas sits with Citlali and offers her food. She calls him kind and kisses him. The next morning, they realise that they are asleep on another clue. Wanting to unite the bandits, they tell everyone to play nice for the next clue – the final location is the Crystal Cave.

However, Ines and Octavio make a run for it and once again the bandits split up. A car chase ensues with Pepa trying to sabotage Ines’ truck while Refugio tries to mess with Lili’s truck since it has Miguel. Lili tranquillizes Refugio while Lucas crashes his drone into Pepa’s truck.

Octavio and Lili bicker and when she tries to overtake, her truck overturns. There is a gas leak and her squad panics but Octavio comes to their rescue.

They patch up and arrive at the Crystal Cave together. With the help of laser lights, they find the diamond. Suddenly, Ariel, Pepa, Refugio and Regina’s gangs show up and there is a stand-off. Regina kills Pepa and Refugio and takes the diamond from Ariel. She then orders Mano to kill everyone starting with Alex. Mano refuses and she kills him. Before she can kill Alex, Octavio shoots her guards but is fatally shot in the chest.

In the chaos, Regina runs off with the diamond. Everyone tears up and Ines kisses Octavio as he dies. At the end of Bandidos Season 2 Episode 6, the bandits hold a funeral for him.

The Episode Review

Bandidos Season 2 Episode 6 really killed off one of the best characters in the show. Octavio gets his time to shine this season, but that also makes him the perfect character to kill off for the shock value.

It is the right time, as viewers will watch the episode, believing that he will get Alex back, forgive Lili, and get with Ines. By killing him, it keeps viewers on their toes and provides an emotionally charged cliffhanger. Of course, we still hate it, as now we won’t get Octavio anymore.

This chapter also helps the show redeem itself after the previous episode which was a mess. The bandits split up and an entertaining race begins on who will get the diamond first. Pepa and Refugio’s addition is pretty hilarious as well. But with Octavio’s death, we wonder if the finale can retain the light-hearted tone.

Now that the heist is over, it seems the show will focus on avenging Octavio, getting the bandits’ money back and also probably stealing the diamond from Regina.
