Baghead Plot Summary
Iris Lark (Freya Allan) is a young woman who inherits a run-down pub from her recently deceased estranged father, Owen (Peter Mullan), and she discovers a dark secret in the basement known as ‘Baghead,’ a shape-shifting creature that lets you speak to lost loved ones. But this endeavour is not without its horrific consequences as Iris will discover when a stranger called Neil (Jeremy Irvine) turns up wanting to speak to his dead wife. Iris’s friend Katie (Ruby Barker) turns up to assist her friend and try to keep the monster at bay.
What happens to Katie?
Katie returns to the old pub after doing some digging into the history of the Baghead and enters the basement where she summons Otto Vogler to get some answers on the history of the curse. Things turn ugly as they always do and she calls Iris for assistance. Iris has passed out upstairs but hears the constant ringing from Katie and answers.
The call has a very bad reception but Iris hears enough to know her friend is in trouble. She goes downstairs, but Katie is nowhere to be seen. She does the unthinkable and proceeds towards the hole in the wall. She enters and begins searching for Katie. She finds her and the pair begins their escape from the creature down there. However, she stumbles upon Katie’s dead body, which reveals that the Katie she is with is actually Baghead. She runs out of the hole and escapes the monster.
How does Baghead end?
Iris goes to visit Neil after Katie’s death and he goes back to the pub to fight the monster with her. However, he insists Iris take a nap and slips her some sleeping tablets to subdue her.
Neil then makes his way down to the basement and summons his dead wife again, who tells him he must kill Iris if he wants to control The Baghead, after he tries to write his name on the deeds, which doesn’t work.
Iris wakes up and goes down to the basement to watch what is going on. Neil spots her and chases after her. The chase leads them to the roof of the old pub where they fight. Iris tries to climb down to the ground floor but Neil grabs her and throws her to her death.
Neil gets to the bottom, steals Iris’ mobile phone, takes it down to the basement and summons Baghead to bring Iris back to life to get more information from her. However, this ends badly because Iris in baghead form is now the master, and she burns down the pub and escapes into the world.
