Bad Sisters – Season 2 Episode 4 “Person of Interest” Recap & Review

Person of Interest

In Bad Sisters Season 2 Episode 4, Houlihan finds Becka at one of Matt Claffin’s performances. Becka tells Matt about being considered “a person of interest” in the case. He wants more information, telling her he can’t cover for her this time. Upon leaving, Becka buys a pregnancy test.

Seeing Angelica at the beach, the Garveys accuse her of holding secrets over Grace and blackmailing her. Angelica answers by telling them they have blood on their hands.

Becka thinks they should break into Angelica’s to find the 20 grand they think Grace gave her. They decide to do it while she’s at church with Roger.

Eva goes to Blanaid’s match while the others break in. There, she finds Angelica gifting Blanaid with a new helmet before she heads off to church.

While a parent picks a fight with Eva on the sidelines, a girl on the team bullies Blanaid, leading to a fight on the field. When Ursula’s daughter Molly comes to her defense, she gets hit in the face.

Ursula keeps an eye on Angelica at church while Becka and Bibi break in. Roger finds her and buys her claim that she was just praying. Roger takes it as a sign and asks her out but insults her in the process. “Let’s be honest,” he says, “are we really gonna find the ideal woman?” She politely declines.

Back at the match, Blanaid is angry at Eva for fighting with a parent on the sidelines. She thinks that’s all everyone will be talking about now.

Ursula then shows up, having abandoned her post when she found out about her daughter being hit in the mouth.

During the break-in, Bibi and Becka find out from newspaper clippings that Angelica’s husband left her for another woman before he died. They also find out she participated in a homophobic protest. But the worst thing they find out is that Angelica has been keeping a room in her house for Blanaid.

Just before Angelica gets home, Becka is struck with a case of morning sickness and has to make a run for the bathroom. Bibi gets away (with Angelica’s pet rabbit, no less), but Becka is stuck in the bathroom while Angelica approaches the door. So, she runs out of the house with her hoodie pulled over her face.

Meanwhile, Houlihan finds out that the Garvey sisters stayed in a hotel a mile away from John Paul’s murder scene on the night of his death. She’s sure that they were in on it. The next point of order is getting a confession from one of them.

The sisters tell Ian that Grace had been blackmailed by Angelica. Bibi and Becka then arrive and reveal they failed at the break-in, although they share what they learned.

Apparently, Angelica recognized Becka, because the detectives show up to arrest her for burglary and assault.

While Angelica rests at home, Roger tries to defend the Garveys, telling her that JP did wicked things, such as raping Eva.

The other sisters have Angelica over to ask her to withdraw her complaint against Becka. She says that in return, she’d like to scatter Grace’s ashes.

The detectives question Becka about JP’s death but are forced to let her go when Angelica withdraws her complaint. Houlihan learns about the money Grace withdrew, however.

When Eva picks her up, Becka reveals they want to pin accessory to murder on all of them. Also that she’s pregnant, and Joe doesn’t even know.

Later, Becka shows up at Matt’s, where they cuddle and talk. She says she likes that she doesn’t have to explain herself to him; he just understands.

Joe finds Becka leaving Matt’s. He had a feeling she’d been cheating on him after he saw how they looked at each other at the funeral. Becka tells him she can’t be with him anymore.

Eva goes to Ian because she doesn’t know who else to confide in. He advises her to stay calm and not give the guards another reason to bring them in.

He doesn’t exactly take his own advice, however. He goes to Angelica to warn her to stay away from the Garveys. She seems scared of him. And he does look scary with a wide grin on his face as he walks away.

The Episode Review

A strong, tension-filled episode! I don’t think I trust Ian. His interaction with Angelica was so unsettling, especially after seeing him be so perfectly supportive of the Garveys. Could something be in it for him to keep Angelica quiet? I also wonder if he revealed a darker side to Grace before he died, as that could have been part of the reason she withdrew from everyone.

Is anyone else so disappointed in Roger this season? I think he’s more like Angelica than he’d care to admit, doing kind things for people because of what he can get out of it. And positioning himself as the good guy when he asked out Ursula even as he blatantly insulted her? Not a good look…
