Bad-Memory Eraser – K-drama Episode 6 Recap & Review

Episode 6

Episode 6 of Bad-Memory Eraser begins with Ju-yeon drafting her team doctor contract. However, Gun claims he doesn’t like her anymore. But watching her in her pitiable state, he allows her to charge her phone and leave in the morning.

She is relieved and in a flashback we see her crashing Kim and Tae-oh’s meeting with a hospital board member. She will follow the subject closely in his natural habitat and the board member is impressed by her commitment.

The next morning, Gun is shocked to see Ju-yeon still in his office and he doesn’t get why she doesn’t leave. They are interrupted by Shi-on’s call and Ju-yeon tags along much to Gun’s annoyance. He finally agrees to a bet – if Shi-on likes her, he will hire her as the team doctor.

However, it is chaos as Mrs. Cha is furious that Gun hasn’t been able to secure a place for Shi-on on the national team. He plans to work on it but unfortunately, CEO Hong is one step ahead. He also points out that Gun’s contract with Shi-on is void since the guardian has not given her approval. 

Inside, Ju-yeon is out of her element as she has no idea what Shi-on is talking about and why she is upset. Annoyed, Shi-on tricks her onto a piece of rehab equipment and runs off. 

Meanwhile, Sae-yan parties all night and is envious that Mrs. Kyung worries for Ju-yeon. She wishes Mrs. Kyung treated her as her daughter too and the latter agrees by chasing Sae-yan with a broom and scolding her for going out. Mrs. Kyung calls her parents who didn’t even know she was in South Korea.

At Shin’s next appointment, Han reveals that the recovery of a small memory can be a domino to Gun regaining all memories. Shin gets anxious and deflects by asking about Ju-yeon. On learning that she is on leave, he heads to her neighbourhood but finds Sae-yan instead.

Her dad has blocked her card while buying drinks and Shin reprimands her. She believes he is stalking her and it is revealed that they went on 3 dates and only ever drank. They bicker and agree never to see each other again.

Meanwhile, Han shows Ju-yeon Gun’s latest test results and points out that his self-esteem goes down whenever Ju-yeon rejects him. The results are also inconclusive whenever they discuss first love. Han warns her that they have to protect Gun or the neurosurgery department may try to take over by running unauthorized tests on him. 

That night, the Lee family has dinner that’s chaotic but sweet. Their dog, Cola is also nice to Gun who secretly gives her more food and teaches her tricks. The family is sad that he is living in his office and wonders if he has a girlfriend. He rants about his first love and they joke that he has been dumped.

Gun suddenly asks about his accident and Shin repeats that he was home. But this time, Gun knows he is lying as his old van’s GPS shows that he had gone to the reunion hotel. He also finds the dashboard camera’s memory card missing.

It cuts to Shin hiding the memory card in his safe which also has Gun’s medal. A flashback to that fateful night shows Shin on the riverbank, administering CPR and apologizing to an unconscious Gun. He sees the medal in Gun’s hand and hides it as the ambulance arrives.

At present, Ju-yeon finds Sae-yan drinking. Sae-yan reveals that Ju-yeon made the bracelet and whenever it breaks, her wish will come true. Ju-yeon is tired of her antics and advises that she needs to make an effort to make her wish come true. 

However, Ju-yeon is sad that despite her trying, her wish isn’t coming true. Her journey to perfection has been lonely and she is jealous that everyone likes Sae-yan who looks sad. They get drunk and Sae-yan’s bodyguard suddenly shows up to take her home.

However, Sae-yan beats him up and he reminds her of a promise she has made to her father. She and Ju-yeon then head to Gun’s office before falling asleep. We see that they haven’t gone home but have fallen asleep in Gun’s parking space. 

At the hospital, Dr. Han is sad no one remembers it is his birthday. He feels lonely when Nurse Song gives him kimchi and shares that family should eat well. He thinks she likes him and is delighted.

Meanwhile, Sae-yan wakes up and rushes out while Gun finds Ju-yeon alone. He tries to get her to leave as the investor is arriving but she insists on meeting him. Finally, to make her leave, he gives her his room key and agrees to extend their bet till the national team competition.

Ju-yeon finds Sae-yan waiting for her outside and they head home. But Sae-yan makes her go in first and smiles as Mrs. Kyung chases Ju-yeon with a broom.

As for the investment meeting, the investor is a sucker for drama and agrees to invest if Gun can poach Shin. It cuts to Hong being shocked as Sae-yan’s father sends him photos of her and Shin together. Shin reveals that she comes from a gangster family and these photos are a warning to stay away from her which he anyway is doing.

As for Sae-yan, she gives Ju-yeon her bracelet to help her wish come true. She claims that Ju-yeon’s happiness is more important than hers. 

Meanwhile, Tae-oh recalls Kim’s words that to take down Ju-yeon, they need to find her weakness. He is with Yeo who is impressed with Gun’s newfound confidence. Tae-oh is confused and she shares how before, he was always angry and hated Ju-yeon. 

Elsewhere, our heroes are busy as Ju-yeon studies sports counseling, Gun looks up the national team competition, and Shin and Shi-on practice. While searching for Shi-on, Ju-yeon happens upon Shin. He says sports is like dating and she needs to try it herself to understand it. As she tries all the moves, her ponytail keeps hitting him in the face but he is too much in love to care.

At the office, Gun keeps waiting for Ju-yeon but instead is greeted by Guk-bong. He sees Ju-yeon’s things and teases Gun who reveals it is his first love. Guk-bong wants her out which surprises Gun. But he kicks him out and goes downstairs.

Shin and Ju-yeon are walking back and they agree to lunch the next day. He notices Sae-yan’s bracelet on her and wonders if it is a trend. He also teases that they should play a proper match and she jokes that it will be a love game which has him blushing. 

Near the office, Ju-yeon’s shoe gets stuck in a grate which Gun notices. He wants to help her and is amused when she refuses help from another person. His smile falls as he sees someone following her. She notices the man too and runs inside the office building while Gun kicks the mysterious man. It turns out to be Tae-oh.

He claims he wants to apologise due to a misunderstanding. They had indeed planned to date once Ju-yeon returned but he ended up falling for Yeo. Gun wonders why he is telling him and Tae-oh says as Gun’s first love, he doesn’t want any animosity. Tae-oh takes his chance and also asks if Gun is sure Ju-yeon is his first love.

At that moment, Shin comes to the office with drinks and is shocked to see Ju-yeon. He wonders if she is Gun’s first love and Gun arrives and confirms it. At the end of Bad-Memory Eraser Episode 6, one of the photos that Sae-yan’s father sends Hong is of Shin and Gun struggling on the bridge on the night of his accident.

The Episode Review

Wait, so maybe Gun never jumped into the water to drown. How much do y’all wanna bet that he argued with Shin who took his medal and threw it in the river? And in trying to catch the medal, Gun falls into the water.

And uh-oh, is Tae-oh going to figure out Ju-yeon’s first love lie? While we want Gun to learn the truth, we don’t want Tae-oh to have any ammunition. We may not like Ju-yeon but we hate him more. Bro led her on for months, not very mindful, not very demure of him. 

And we doubt he is telling the truth about the misunderstanding that he brings up in Bad-Memory Eraser Episode 6. If he always meant to date her, why did he gift Yeo a gold necklace while giving Ju-yeon the same keyring he got the rest of the staff?

But there’s something off with Ju-yeon too. She’s rude to everyone around her from Gun to Sae-yan. Yet they keep bending over backwards to make her happy. 

Sure, when Shin does it, it makes sense since she has been there for him. But with the rest, it doesn’t work. And fine, we are getting a hang of her personality – she is the grumpy sunshine protector but her sunshine isn’t Gun, it has been Shin so far. This will lead to a rushed and/or convoluted storyline if the writers plan to make Gun and Ju-yeon endgame.
