Bad-Memory Eraser – K-drama Episode 10 Recap & Review

Episode 10

Episode 10 of Bad-Memory Eraser begins with Ju-yeon hugging Gun. She realises she likes him. He wonders what’s up with her and she claims to be worried that he was running.

The next day, everyone prepares to go to the Athlete’s Village for training. Gun has to drop Cola at a pet care centre and he is loathed to part from her but he tries not to show it. 

At the orientation, the coach is annoyed that Shin is grumbling about Sae-yan and Shi-on for being late. He promises to kick them out if they mess up anymore like being late for the training.

Meanwhile, Ju-yeon tries to avoid Gun but she keeps running into him and is flustered. Shin sees her hiding and wonders what’s up. But his focus is on the fact that Sae-yan and Gun are hanging out and he is worried about the bad memories returning. 

At the same time, Sae-yan’s bodyguard shows up at Mrs. Kyung’s. She doesn’t pick up the phone and it is chaos as the nephew helps translate her location to the bodyguard.

As for her, Shin tries to get Sae-yan to quit. He claims that the Athlete’s Village is like the military and she will have to see his face all the time. But she finds it fun that he is more annoyed by her presence which is why she will not quit.

On D-Day, Shin and Gun offer Ju-yeon their cars to the Athlete’s Village. They both bicker but Ju-yeon picks Shin. He gloats but Ju-yeon only chooses him because her heart races when she is near Gun. Sae-yan shows up and declares that she and Ju-yeon will travel with Gun. Worried about Gun and Sae-yan sitting together, Shin ends up taking everyone in his car. He also wonders about Cola at the pet care and it cuts to Gun actually leaving her with their parents in the end.

As they are about to leave, the bodyguards show up. Sae-yan pushes the Lees and Ju-yeon into the backseat and drives recklessly to get away. Gun holds Ju-yeon and she frets as it isn’t helping her feelings for him. She pretends to sleep while Gun wonders why Sae-yan refuses to go home. Before she can tell him about her search for her mystery man, Shin interrupts.

At the hospital, Dr. Han wants a sign if Nurse Song likes him. She likes the cheesy quotes he sends on the group chat and also agrees to the same restaurant he recommends and he is happy. While he pays the cheque, the doctors tease Nurse Song that she and Han seem like a couple. She comments that Han reminds her of his dad and he is heartbroken.

At the rest stop, Shin kicks everyone out of the car and then quickly calls Sae-yan’s dad with their location. Sae-yan actually sleeps in the back but he thinks it is Ju-yeon and drives off as he believes he has left Sae-yan with Gun at the rest stop. He is shocked when Ju-yeon and Gun call him from the rest stop and he has to stop at the nearest resort. Sae-yan thinks he is trying to get her fired and fights with him till he accidentally breaks her bracelet. He regrets it as she storms off.

Meanwhile, Ju-yeon and Gun walk their way to the resort. She is snappy with him as her feet are bleeding but he doesn’t mind. He bribes her with her favourite snack so that he can disinfect her wound. They share a sweet moment as he teases her for crying.

Back at the resort parking space, Shin fixes the bracelet and waits for Sae-yan to return. However, she is lost and he has to go after her. He makes her wait by pretending to poop but in reality, he calls her dad. However, he is suddenly in pain and believes a snake has bitten his back. He apologises as he thinks it is karma for trying to betray her.

He gives her the bracelet and says he knows the mystery man she is looking for. She is surprised that he knows her real father which confuses him before he faints. She tries to suck out the venom but the ambulance arrives and reveals it was just allergies.

Shin and Sae-yan are flustered while Ju-yeon and Gun arrive and wonder what went down. Their troubles are far from over as they realise that they are out of gas. However, Shi-on arrives in time and rescues them.

As the players head to the training, Gun takes Ju-yeon to the bridge where his first love rescued him. He goes on with his confession but she apologises as she cannot accept his feelings. He sees that she does like him and tells her not to lie to herself. At the end of Bad-Memory Eraser Episode 10, they kiss.

The Episode Review

Bad-Memory Eraser Episode 10 is not too bad if we get our own bad memory eraser and forget that Ju-yeon had been pretty horrible to Gun till episode 8. But to remedy their initial toxic beginning, the writers are pulling out all the cliched tropes to make it believable that she has suddenly fallen for Gun. While it isn’t fully working, at least it is entertaining. 

Then there’s the Sae-yan and Shin enemies-to-lovers situation which seems like a much better love story than the main couple’s. It’s got the whole hateful exes, misunderstandings and bickering which doesn’t actually fall in the toxic area that was Ju-yeon and Gun.

And fine, credit where credit due, the show still has a couple of tricks up their sleeve to keep viewers from tuning in every week. Now we have the whole first love mystery as we learn that Sae-yan is not looking for her first love but her real father. 

But even if she is not looking for her love, it still seems that she is Gun’s first love since she was the one who put up Gun’s medal at the reunion. It wouldn’t make sense to suddenly make Ju-yeon the first love since she has no memory of saving him and never had the medal.
