Plot Summary
In seasons 1 and 2 of Back to 15, we followed Anita, the time traveller, as she attempted to improve her own life and the lives of her friends and family. In the third season of this Brazilian show, Anita finds herself in college, surrounded by both familiar faces from the past seasons and new ones. However, after deleting the Photoblog last season, a pressing question arises—how did she return to the past? Adding to the mystery, Anita now travels through time randomly, without the existence of her Photoblog. The rest of the season follows her as she tries to understand how and why she’s been traveling to the past without it.
Who is the mysterious Time Traveller?
Episode 6 of Back to 15 season 3 begins with an adult Anita as a prisoner. Although we’re not given details about why she’s imprisoned, one thing becomes clear—the mysterious traveller who has been causing Anita’s random time jumps is her classmate, Filipa. After Anita deleted her Photoblog, Filipa gained access to the ability to travel through time.
It’s revealed that the ability originated when the founder of Photoblog developed the site. Once he deleted his own Photoblog, the ability was passed down randomly, first to Anita, and then to Filipa. Filipa has been using the Photoblog to curate her life, leading to Anita’s random time travels whenever Filipa travelled.
Why Does Anita reveal her secret to her friends?
Anita had been stuck in a time loop for several episodes this season due to Filipa’s time travels and a glitch in the Photoblog. Frustrated, she eventually snaps at her friends, who think she’s just reset. However, when she discovers that Filipa is also a traveller, it acts as a key to unlock the time loop.
After returning from a dull future where Filipa is present but her friends are not, Anita decides to lock Filipa in and make one last attempt to change the future. Unfortunately, her previous outburst strained her relationships. The only way she can justify her actions is by revealing to her friends that she’s a time traveler and needs their help to return to her future.
Is Anita able to return to the future?
In earlier episodes, Anita and Joel obtained a device from Photoblog’s founder that could delete the website forever. However, after their failed attempt, where Filipa secretly prevented the Photoblog’s disappearance, the developers have strengthened its security.
According to Joel, the only way to hack into Photoblog now is to use the high-tech systems in his Physics lab. With the help of her friends, Anita is finally able to go back to the future.
Who does Anita choose—Fabricio or Joel?
Before she returns to the future, the founder of Photoblog arrives at the Physics lab to prevent the group from destroying it. He’s had a change of heart and now wants to begin his own time travels to search for his long-lost love.
In the ensuing struggle, he stabs Fabricio, who lies bleeding as Anita’s time runs out. It’s at this moment that we realize Anita truly loves Fabricio. Despite his injuries, Fabricio and the others encourage Anita to travel to the future, hoping that Fabricio will survive.
How does Back to 15 Season 3 end?
Season 3 concludes with the friends celebrating Camila’s birthday and her 15 years of transformation. The group remains close, with Filipa now part of their circle. Joel and Filipa are together, as are Jessica and Bruna. In the final moments, Fabricio, having survived the attack, surprises Anita, and the two are finally together.
