Atri: My Dear Moments – Season 1 Episode 7 Recap & Review

Date With a Robot Girl

Episode 7 of Atri: My Dear Moments begins with Natsuki staring at Atri while she’s sleeping. Natsuki argues Atri isn’t the same girl he met in the past. Natsuki tries waking Atri up but Atri tells him to leave her alone. Natsuki visits Ryuuji at the school and discusses the Atri situation with him. Ryuuji tells Natsuki to accept Atri as the girl he fell in love with in the past. He lists reasons that support this idea of Atri being Natsuki’s first love.

Minamo and Yoko arrive and Natsuki attempts to depart the area. Natsuki doesn’t want to accept that Atri’s his first love. Atri arrives and scolds Natsuki for failing to wake her up. Natsuki calls Atri “scrap” and continues discussing his first-love situation with Minamo.

Minamo brings up Nonko’s orders for Atri. Natsuki argues if they uncover the mystery surrounding that order, he’ll know for certain if Atri is his first love. Atri tries remembering certain memories but fails. Natsuki argues Atri’s failures prove that she isn’t his first love. However, Atri argues she remembers seeing a boy on a cliff and singing the song from episode six to him.

Yoko argues this memory proves Atri’s Natsuki’s first love. While Atri swims with the others, Hanako greets Natsuki at the school’s library. Hanako and Natsuki discuss Atri. The former argues Atri may have a human heart and a batch of emotions. She argues Natsuki must learn to control Atri’s emotions since Humanoids can be more dangerous than humans.

Hanako suggests Natsuki confirm Atri has these things. Later, Natsuki and Atri visit a water fountain. While Atri rambles about her new cooking skills, Natsuki messes with Atri. He notices Atri’s mixed emotional reactions to things. He questions if she’s responding this way humanly or because it’s wired in her Humanoid programming.

Natsuki asks Atri how she’d respond if he confessed to her. Atri says she likes Natsuki but Natsuki can’t distinguish if this is a human version of liking someone or a robotic variant. Natsuki and Hanako spy on Atri, Ririka, and the others. Hanako praises Natsuki for trying to confirm her suspicions of Atri. She says Atri may require more intel on what human romance is like.

Hanako tells Natsuki she’ll help Atri obtain knowledge on that subject. The former enters the classroom and tells the boys to head to the roof with Natsuki. The boys leave and Hanako tells Atri and the girls she’ll be discussing the differences between liking and loving someone. Ririka and Atri head to the library and find a book on “liking and loving.”

The girls open the book and look at the romantic image inside. Later, Atri and Natsuki return to the latter’s home. Natsuki eats Atri’s hamburg steak and says it’s good. Atri asks Natsuki if she and him can go somewhere tomorrow. Natsuki and Atri go for a walk the next morning. The two go shopping and Natsuki notices Atri’s date plan guide.

He wonders if Minamo or Hanako’s teachings influenced Atri to go through with that. Regardless, the two visit a popsicle booth and eat popsicles. Natsuki notices Atri’s worn-out shoes and purchases new ones for her. After that, Atri and Natsuki visit a bench and enjoy lunch together.

Natsuki takes a bite and Atri realizes she put too much mustard in the sandwiches. He tells Atri it’s fine because he knows Atri puts a lot of heart into the meals. Atri doesn’t know how to respond and Natsuki tells her he expected her to smile after he shared that comment. Natsuki asks Atri if she has a heart and Atri thinks she does.

Atri and Natsuki visit a water-enveloped locale. There, they start splashing each other. Natsuki laughs and Atri wonders why Natsuki’s responding this way. Atri also asks Natsuki to elaborate more on his desire for her to have a heart. The two fall into the ocean and the episode ends with the two kissing.

The Episode Review

It’s safe to assume Atri is based on Natsuki’s first love. This episode delved into that dilemma swimmingly and gave fans fantastic moments between our female and male duo. Some fans will love seeing Natsuki and Atri bond through relatable activities from shopping to playful water outings.

At the same time, others may be put off by this romantic endeavor. Atri and Natsuki’s romantic outings might be jarring and uncomfortable to some folks. This is due to our characters’ appearances and the “adult and child” partnership the two have established since their initial meeting.

While some fans can turn a blind eye to that others cannot. Regardless, Hanako’s concerns about Humanoids having human emotions and hearts will intrigue audiences. Fans who’ve watched sci-fi TV shows and anime with human-like robots know where she’s coming from with that perspective.

Coupled with the scene depicting shady fellows spying on our duo from an undisclosed location, things may take a dramatic turn in episode 8. Regardless, this episode should leave folks as happy as Atri was.
