Asaf – Season 1 Episode 6 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

End of the Road

Episode 6 of Asaf begins with Asaf passed out on the streets while people try to give him first aid. However, all Asaf can think about is getting to his phone while recalling what he has been through since he got into the organisation. Meanwhile, the timer on the bomb in his car is 11 seconds away from blowing up. We circle back to Asaf’s call with Cüneyt. Cüneyt took measures to ensure that Asaf had no escape route or alternative options, effectively leaving him with no choice but to comply with his demands.

Does Asaf deliver the bomb to the boat?

At first, Asaf drives to Payen Kuyern and tries to talk to Nasuh. Cüneyt calls him and warns that he can’t leave the car for more than five minutes. Cüneyt warns Asaf that there are two phones connected to the phone. If he switches off his phone, the bomb goes off. If he leaves the car for more than five minutes, the same happens.

Asaf goes back to the car shop; the manager tells him that Irfan has been acting strangely. He is not picking up his phone, but only sending messages. He asks about the boat, but the manager has no clue what he is talking about.

Does the truth about Cüneyt come out?

After Akif arrests Murat and his other associates, he gets nothing much about Asaf. He opts to talk to Aziz, who is on the new list and receiving orders from Irfan. Akif finds Aziz at work and tries to get him to cooperate.

Simultaneously, Asaf tries to warn his brother. He finally gets through to Aziz’s office and tells him about Cüneyt and the bomb. Akif listens to everything and starts putting the pieces together. Asaf begs Aziz to clear his name to their family. In the end, Akif arrests Aziz.

After failing to convince Nasuh to give up Asil. Cüneyt tries to frame Servet and visits his office to get into the man’s safe. He ends up failing and opts to dig up Servet’s body to get his fingerprint.

What happens to Ruya?

Harun manages to get Ruya out of police custody under the instructions of Irfan. Ruya is confused when Harun informs her that she has been added to the organisation. Her first mission is to interview Nasuh as he talks about the new organisation. Of course, Ruya doesn’t play to their rules and hits Nasuh with hard-hitting questions. The man denies any rumours of wrongdoing and launches the new Payen Kuyern. Shortly after, the people in the new list get an invitation video for the new Payen Kuyern. Nasuh invites all the new members to the boat and has his men personally collect Cüneyt.

Cüneyt asks to frame Asil for one murder for Argun’s murder. Nasuh threatens Cüneyt, and the latter tries to frame Servet for the murder.

What happens to Asaf’s family?

Harun honours the invitation to join Nasuh on the boat and brings along Sema and Atlas. He says it is a surprise trip, but once they get to the boat, he reveals the truth. He proposes to Sema and promises that the organisation will help them get Atlas a new heart if she drops her lawsuit. It dawns on Sema that there is more to the heart transplant proposal. She breaks up with Harun and heads back home with her son.

How does Asaf end?

Asaf nearly blows up a crowded street when he stops to buy a charger for the phone and gets hit by another car. Thankfully, he manages to throw the phone under the car and reset the timer. He drives the car to Servet’s construction site before heading to the boat.

There he talks to Nasuh to get Little Joe back. Nasuh tries to make it look like he has helped Asaf become a better man. It turns out Asaf drove his car to the construction site and switched the phones. Cüneyt is currently there to dig up Servet’s body to get his fingerprint. Nasuh calls him to inform him that Asaf has arrived. The package is therefore ready. Unknowingly, Cüneyt sets off the bomb and ends up killing himself.

Nasuh agrees to give Little Joe to Asaf. Asaf meets the little guy and offers to adopt him. While talking to Little Joe, Asaf realises that Nasuh has been impersonating Irfan after killing him. Irfan was the informant that was shot in front of Asaf. Nasuh plans to set Asaf for everything and flee the country. He also has Asil watching Sema and Atlas, waiting to take them out.

Asaf follows Nasuh and tries to stop him. A wild car chase ensues, and Asaf intentionally collides with Nasuh’s car. Thankfully, Akif arrives in time to arrest Nasuh before he can give the kill order.  Nasuh’s arrest ultimately leads to the fall of Payen Kuyern, and investigations continue into his other crimes.

The show ends with Asaf and Sema reconciling and adopting Little Joe. They take the kids to the beach to play with kites now that Atlas has received his surgery and got a new heart.

The Episode Review

After everything he has been through, Asaf deserves a happy ending. To think all this started because Cüneyt bumped into his car and refused to pay enough money to handle the damages. If it were not for Cüneyt’s arrogance, Asaf would have never stumbled into the organisation and brought it down.

He might be a mere driver, but he did what seemed impossible. This is a reminder that we should never look down on people because of their jobs or status in life. Asaf’s mother thought he was hopeless and praised Aziz. Aziz sold his soul to get rich, but Asaf risked his life to free many people from Payen Kuyern. At the end of the day, he is a son and husband most women would be proud of. It is a good thing Sema realised this before it was too late.

As Asaf wraps up, we still don’t know Little Joe’s true origin. However, as long as he is happy being Asaf’s son, that is all that matters. This was a good thriller, with a few plot holes that we are willing to overlook. If you are looking for a short, intriguing thriller to binge-watch, Asaf should be the first on your list.
