Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Back For A New Christmas Comedy – And It’s Not Jingle All The Way 3!

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s New Christmas Movie

The last time Arnold Schwarzenegger was in a Christmas movie was in 1996 when he starred in Jingle All The Way as a doting dad on a mission to buy a Turbo Man action figure for his son (Jake Lloyd).

The movie may have grossed $129.8 million at the worldwide box office but it was not critically well-received. Unsurprisingly, the Terminator actor was not back for the 2014 sequel (which was even worse than its predecessor) but he will be back this Christmas or next with a new festive movie.

Titled The Man With the Bag, this will be Arnie’s first movie in 5 years. He was last seen on the big screen in Terminator: Dark Fate, a movie that was entertaining but nowhere near the quality of the first two movies in the Terminator franchise.

This upcoming Christmas movie, which has been produced by Amazon MGM Studios, also includes Reacher star Alan Ritchson in the cast. Adam Shankman, whose most recent movie was Disenchanted, is the director.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Following the theft of his magic bag, Santa turns to his naughty list to find former thief Vance, to help him get it back. Along with his daughter, Santa, and a group of misfit elves, Vance will have to pull off the greatest heist of his life to save Christmas.”

We don’t have an official release date yet but we expect it to land in theaters and on Prime Video during the 2024 or 2025 Christmas season.

Will the movie be deserving of a place on Santa’s nice list? Or will it join Santa With Muscles and Jingle All The Way 2 on our worst Christmas movie list instead? You might want to call us Scrooge-like cynics as we’re half suspecting the latter!
