Apples Never Fall – Episode 7 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Is Joy alive or dead?

On the day Joy disappeared, she discovered Harry’s memoir, where he has cheated multiple times during training. This infuriated Joy as she realized Stan had favoured Harry over his own son, despite Harry’s deceitful nature. This ignited a series of heated arguments between Joy and Stan, during which Joy criticized Stan’s coaching abilities and parenting skills. In turn, Stan accused Joy of being unfaithful.

Later that day, Joy met Savannah and confronted Savannah about her motives for entering her life. Savannah admitted to being a con artist and revealed that she had initially planned to fool Joy but had grown to care for her like a mother because of Joy’s kindness. Troy’s payment had led her to leave, but by then, she had developed genuine feelings for Joy.

Savannah also took Joy to her mountain home, where they spent the night. The next morning, over breakfast, Joy opened up to Savannah, saying that her marriage with Stan had reached a breaking point with no hope of reconciliation. They spent the day together, even going out for a karaoke night.

Who is Lindsay? What was her real intention?

While looking through photos, Brooke and Amy discover that the eccentric woman they had encountered earlier is actually Harry’s mother. They also learn that Savannah is Harry’s sister, whose real name is Lindsay. They seek out Harry for answers, who explains that after he and his father left home for his tennis career,

Lindsay became unstable and desperate for money. No matter how much he gave her, it was never enough. Eventually, Harry had to cut ties with her and obtain a restraining order to protect himself. It becomes clear that Savannah approached the Delaney family to tear them apart, as she had always held them responsible for her own family’s breakup. She disguised herself as a vulnerable woman and insidiously sowed discord among the family members, turning them against each other.

How does Apples Never Fall end?

Eventually, Savannah reveals her true identity to Joy, confirming her malicious intent. On their way to the city, she and Joy get into a car accident, and Savannah takes off, leaving Joy behind. Joy is eventually found by the cops and brought home. Joy’s return means there’s no case against Stan, so he’s set free.

The couple reunites, apologizing and forgiving each other for their past mistakes. Joy also says sorry to her kids for what they went through. Stan and Troy, who were distant, also make up, leading to a happy ending.

The Episode Review

The show’s handling of the mystery surrounding Joy’s disappearance is truly commendable. It’s not until the last episode that we learn her fate—whether she is alive or dead. As it turns out, Joy had simply taken a break and was unaware of the events unfurling at her home.

She had no idea that her husband had been charged with murder and was behind bars. The ending was satisfying, and viewers were more than happy to see a happy resolution. It was a delight to witness “The Apples Never Fall” come to a satisfying close.
