Anthracite: Secrets of the Sect is another exciting French Netflix Original that will be gracing our screens this year. With exciting themes of cult, murder, betrayals and secrets, the show is set 30 years after the mysterious suicide of a group of villagers in the Alps. In 2024, a murder takes place which is set up like a cult ritual embraced by the same village with all fingers pointing at Jaro Gatsi, an outsider who is on a self-discovery journey.
He crosses paths with Ida, a quirky and novice reporter who is looking into the same cult to find her missing father. But as they start delving deeper into the secrets of the village, secrets of their own past bubble up that are all linked to the incident that took place in 1994. The series stars Hatik, Camille Lou, Noemie Schmidt and Nicolas Godart and is written by Maxime Berthemy and Fanny Robert.

Anthracite Season 1 episodes will release on Wednesday 10th April at approximately 12am (GMT) / 7pm (ET). If you miss the episodes though, they will be available on the platform so don’t worry too much! At that point, Anthracite Season 1 will drop with subtitles and dubs available in several languages.
The episodes are expected to be roughly 1 hour long each, which is consistent with the time frame for the usual Netflix Originals.
